Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Although it was a bit cloudy, we drove up to Mount Wellington. It was colder up there than in Hobart so take a jacket and hat. We took in the views and did some of the short walks at the top and at stopping points on the way up. There is a telecommunications facility up at the top. It is very alpine with tussock and little flowers.

Went with 3 friends to relax and enjoy the free jazz in the gardens. They provide picnic blankets if the table are full which we did. Beautiful gardens and you can spread out to find shade/ sun or a quiet spot. Had a lovey platter with cocktail jug, they cater well for non beer drinkers.

We had a lovely few hours looking at these wonderful gardens. Facilities are kept immaculately clean. No cage but had a lovely coffee at the pop up cafe.

Last Friday, I visited the Hobart Convict Penitentiary, and it was an amazing experience. Mike, our tour guide brilliantly combined humour and seriousness to tell the story of the site from its beginnings as Hobart Town Barracks in 1821 through to the closure of the gaol in 1963. The short film, Pandemonium shown in the prison chapel was an example of reinactment done right. The tour concludes with the immersive convict memorial which is a great for people who have ancestors that spend time in Van Diemen's Land. Even before visiting, the website did a great job warning people about the challenges navigating the site. This is particularly important for someone like myself who suffers from Ankylosing Spondlyitis. It meant I could prepare properly by taking extra anti-imflammatory medication before visting. Unfortunately, for people in wheelchairs, it is not an appropraite site, but they make that clear before you book.

Girlfriends and I enjoyed the ‘Posh’ upgrade on the ferry ride to MONA lol
Booked the classy ride over with unlimited mimosas and beautiful canapés! A really wonderful way to start our holiday and tour of MONA and Hobart.

    Staff were really lovely!

This was one of the best National Trust tours we have done. Our guide Jill was knowledgeable and personable, answering all questions about the house, the occupants and its history engagingly.
I would thoroughly recommend doing this tour if you are in the area

Beautiful beach. The water is so clear. Been for many swims here in August/Sept weather and definitely worth it if you’re brave enough!

Wow...what a great little museum. Very interesting and my little grandson was enthralled with the exhibits. Highly recommend going on a day when the steam train is running. It's been a long time since passenger trains have run in Tasmania so it's a novelty to ride on one.

It provides a wonderful view of Hobart and the Tasman Bridge. Well worth the detour when travelling from the Airport to Hobart.

This is a lovely bush walk, leading to Myrtle Gully Falls (past Secret Falls) and beyond.

A narrow long inclining natural path
