Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Spectacular viewing points and views of this gorgeous peak. The road was easy to drive up and the signs were clearly marked!

A great experience, thanks Rob. Having worked in aviation and as a navy air controller I thoroughly enjoyed being up front in a realistic simulator. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone wanting flight simulator experience or just curious about what it takes to fly a 737.

This was my first ever experience in an escape room. The host was very welcoming and informative. She explained everything in very simple terms. The escape room experience was so good. We had so much fun, there were 4 of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed it and would definately recommend anyone to experience it.

cannot recommend this tour enough. The views are spectacular. We were extremely lucky in that the weather was exceptionally calm and we saw sites that you cannot always see, that said even if we did not get to view these the sights would still be amazing. The tour guides have extensive knowledge about the sites and the wildlife you get to view on the tour. Very good value for money.

This full day trip included a sensitive viewing of a great seal colony in good weather conditions that allowed our skill full skipper to take us into amazing sea caves. Bonus enjoyed was a pod of about 20 dolphins playing alongside the boat. Lunch is included and of a good quality. After lunch 2 hours on Maria is time to explore the historic ruins. A great day.

As a family, we have done many boat cruises in many countries and across different sceneries and this ranks as most likely the best we have ever experienced. Super comfortable boats operating in potentially rough seas with highly professional crews. To see common dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, albatross, Australian fur seals, long-nosed fur seals and a humpback whale exceeded our expectations. And then there are the caves, blow holes and cruise-through rock formations. We had extra time out there beyond the 3 hours because our crew expertly interacted with the dolphins, leaping all around us and surfing our bow waves - exhilarating! Our day was sunny but cold (even in December) but the seas were mercifully calm so that we visit a cave on the Southern Ocean side. Totally awesome!

The bus was easy to find. It ran to schedule. The bus was nearly full but comfortable. They were able to accommodate a person with a wheelchair. The driver, Chris, was knowledgeable and willing to drop us off for us to do a Hobart Rivulet walk.

After weather cancelled our Southwest Experience twice and with our departure from Tasmania imminent, Par Avion offered us the option of a refund or a day on Maria Island. As it was a blue sky, low wind day in the east we decided to make the most of it and soon Michael our pilot, Dave our guide and the two of us were in the air, viewing from above where we had driven from Coles Bay the day prior, over the Freycinet Peninsula and magnificent Wineglass Bay then looping around to land on Maria Island. A very inviting cheese platter with tea, coffee (or wine!) for morning tea soon followed, then the two of us took a relaxed walk to the former settlement, stopping to photograph forester kangaroos, wombats and pademelons in the bush adjoining the track along the way. After we walked a leisurely circuit investigating the restored convict buildings we rejoined Michael and Dave to feast on a gourmet picnic lunch and wine on the beautiful fine white sand beach below. Following this and another lovely scenic walk back to the aircraft, it was mid afternoon and sadly time to leave. Returning to Cambridge airport flying over yet more beautiful scenery, before we knew it we were gently landing and our fabulous day was over. Michael’s expert piloting and Dave’s vast knowledge and experience of yachting, kayaking and hiking (indeed all things outdoors!), along with the fun banter between us all, made this truly a day we will never forget. Thanks Par Avion.

Our all inclusive tour of Coles bay was worth every cent. With the weather being on point our skipper Noah had us in the most intricate spots to maximise our viewing pleasure with detailed and entertaining commentary . Every question was met with a detailed and enthusiastic answer from all the staff , Albert, Rex, and Hallie. Notable mention to Albert who took extra care to attend to my daughter who suffered a slight case of motion sickness and Hallie who ensured all of my family were all well fed and watered up. Will definitely look at more pennicott tours when next in Tassie. The staff are a massive credit to the company. Bravo 👏🏼

we enjoyed the time with Luke and Stanley, they shared a lot marine experience and knowledge during the cruise journey. Luke also catch the biggest abalone, but it was sad that shell was taken by another family. We also enjoy the time with Stanley on various topics!

Thank you Luke and Stanley, we hope to see you soon.

We had a lovely morning Sail from Hobart. The yacht is very nice and comfortable and the crew was very friendly and helpful. We saw a huge pod of dolphins . It was a light wind day so ours was tranquil.

As an avid mountain biker, I could not miss the opportunity to ride Mt. Wellington’s North-South track.
I booked the shuttle top the top so as to be able to enjoy a quick freewheel down 6km of the mountain before hitting the trail.
I met up with Gray, from Georgia USA, almost half my age and we decided to do the first few sections together.
Once one the North- South trail , Gray decided he’d do the whole thing rather than branch off. This turned out to be good decision as we were able to stop and get memorable pics of an exhilarating ride, glad I didn’t slow him up but rather had him pedalling to keep up in places.
After playing around doing a few loops in Tolosa Park especially on “ Berm Baby Berm” we cycled along the bike track / cycleway into Hobart taking in some pretty amazing views the ride ended with a comfortable 42km done and dusted.
Rich and Phil were great, helpful, accommodating and very knowledgeable about all things related to the area.
The whole process was easy and I’d recommend it to those that have the opportunity.
A walk along the creek to Cascades Brewery for a well deserved local lager and lunch is also advisable.

We decided to join the Iron Pot Tour at short notice after seeing the board outside their office at the harbour. The relatively short duration suited us perfectly, and we looked forward to seeing Hobart from the water.
The boat is quite small, and even with only a little swell the ride was quite bumpy at times. One passenger had obviously expected a more sedate journey.
Our skipper and guide was very knowledgeable and pointed out various interesting architectural and natural sights, and - very timely as it was just a few days before her coronation - the school Queen Mary of Denmark (then Mary Donaldson) attended.

Following the River Derwent south towards the northern tip of Bruny Island, and on towards Betsey Island, and the Iron Pot. Along the way we learned more about the area's history.
Overall I thought it was a very interesting and informative tour, helpful and knowledgeable staff, and a good time out on the water.

Friends & family celebrated the New Year sailing aboard the Lady Nelson, one of Hobart's tall ships. It was a 10 out of 5 stars voyage, thanks to Captain Richard and the talented crew. More than 200 volunteers keep this tall beauty ship-shape. Outstanding hospitality, unmatched fun and landscapes only viewable from the water.
