Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- TevoroSydney, Australia71 contributionsExcellent view of the whole of Hobart!
Driving up in a big campervan was a tad tight! Recommend taking it easy up and down the bends!
Whilst it was summer, it was still a tad cold up the top - definitely take a jacket with you. Views were worth it though.Written 13 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - HeimbodyVictoria, Canada58 contributionsInteresting historical walk. I also took the opportunity to chat with a father and daughter who were fishing off a wharf near one of the sculpture points. Australians are very friendly, generally, and pleased to chat with visitors. They have a relaxing attitude toward life. As the father replied as I wished them luck, "It's called fishing, not catching".Written 1 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Fiona GAdelaide, Australia340 contributionscannot recommend this tour enough. The views are spectacular. We were extremely lucky in that the weather was exceptionally calm and we saw sites that you cannot always see, that said even if we did not get to view these the sights would still be amazing. The tour guides have extensive knowledge about the sites and the wildlife you get to view on the tour. Very good value for money.Written 21 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- MutinySydney, Australia2,644 contributionsAs a family, we have done many boat cruises in many countries and across different sceneries and this ranks as most likely the best we have ever experienced. Super comfortable boats operating in potentially rough seas with highly professional crews. To see common dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, albatross, Australian fur seals, long-nosed fur seals and a humpback whale exceeded our expectations. And then there are the caves, blow holes and cruise-through rock formations. We had extra time out there beyond the 3 hours because our crew expertly interacted with the dolphins, leaping all around us and surfing our bow waves - exhilarating! Our day was sunny but cold (even in December) but the seas were mercifully calm so that we visit a cave on the Southern Ocean side. Totally awesome!Written 3 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Keryl C58 contributionsAfter weather cancelled our Southwest Experience twice and with our departure from Tasmania imminent, Par Avion offered us the option of a refund or a day on Maria Island. As it was a blue sky, low wind day in the east we decided to make the most of it and soon Michael our pilot, Dave our guide and the two of us were in the air, viewing from above where we had driven from Coles Bay the day prior, over the Freycinet Peninsula and magnificent Wineglass Bay then looping around to land on Maria Island. A very inviting cheese platter with tea, coffee (or wine!) for morning tea soon followed, then the two of us took a relaxed walk to the former settlement, stopping to photograph forester kangaroos, wombats and pademelons in the bush adjoining the track along the way. After we walked a leisurely circuit investigating the restored convict buildings we rejoined Michael and Dave to feast on a gourmet picnic lunch and wine on the beautiful fine white sand beach below. Following this and another lovely scenic walk back to the aircraft, it was mid afternoon and sadly time to leave. Returning to Cambridge airport flying over yet more beautiful scenery, before we knew it we were gently landing and our fabulous day was over. Michael’s expert piloting and Dave’s vast knowledge and experience of yachting, kayaking and hiking (indeed all things outdoors!), along with the fun banter between us all, made this truly a day we will never forget. Thanks Par Avion.Written 29 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sharyn B2 contributionsEight of us went on the Bruney Island Day Cruise and had the most memorable day with Zoe who was not only our tour guide but also our bus driver. What a remarkable young lady, she was charismatic, bubbly, knowledgeable and extremely pleasant, we could not have asked for a better person she made the whole experience a memorable one. Could not recommend this tour more highly especially if you are lucky enough to have Zoe as your guide.Written 24 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - OiMan L9 contributionswe enjoyed the time with Luke and Stanley, they shared a lot marine experience and knowledge during the cruise journey. Luke also catch the biggest abalone, but it was sad that shell was taken by another family. We also enjoy the time with Stanley on various topics!

The yacht is very nice and comfortable and the crew was very friendly and helpful. We saw a huge pod of dolphins . - RiverDream2008North Queensland91 contributionsWe visit Tasmania often, but had never done the Red Decker bus, so thought we would this year. It is certainly a great way to become oriented to Hobart, and be able to see some of the main attractions - the ability to get on and off is excellent for those without transport. If you are thinking of visiting a number of the attractions on the listed stops, it would be worth purchasing the 48 hr ticket, to allow you time to explore over 2 days. The commentary was great, driver was amazing, and the ride was comfortable. We stayed on for the 90 minute loop, as we had seen/been to most areas, but enjoyed being able to take it all in from a different perspective. Highly recommend.Written 15 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Carmel DGold Coast, Australia57 contributionsMy partner and I did the Battery Hill tour for my Birthday this year.
Wow.Awesome.Fantastic.Nostalgic to say the least.
Steve was our guide, and he was superb, the knowledge that Steve gave us about Battery Hill was mind blowing. Such a wonderful gentleman.
Sharon is the lovely lady who took the booking and arranged our morning tea. Sharon was so wonderful in making sure my treats were gluten free as I am coeliac. Nothing was too much trouble for her to do.
I absolutely recommend doing the carriage ride. If you don’t have time for the longer rides they do shorted ones.
We will absolutely do this again when we are back in Hobart.
Thank-you Sharon and Steve for making my birthday memorable 🤗Written 28 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
