Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- HeimbodyVictoria, Canada58 contributionsInteresting historical walk. I also took the opportunity to chat with a father and daughter who were fishing off a wharf near one of the sculpture points. Australians are very friendly, generally, and pleased to chat with visitors. They have a relaxing attitude toward life. As the father replied as I wished them luck, "It's called fishing, not catching".Written 1 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PetalBrisbane, Australia1,667 contributionsA very welcoming and interesting collection of Maritime artefacts ranging from whaling to ferries to the Royal Australian Navy.
The collection is set out over two flors and accessible by lift or stairs. There is so much history and interesting displays about Tasmania's nautical past.
I particularly liked the original Commanding Officers cabin from the HMAS Derwent. The ship has been scuttled but the CO wanted the cabin saved. So cool to see everything exactly as it was back in the day.
There is a nice gift shop and a great book collection for sale.
