Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
Learn more about our review moderation.

What travellers are saying
- Rochelle FRandolph, NJ1,240 contributionsWe went on a Friday to the shops which must carry 80% Tasmanian goods to be located here. It was nice to see the crafts, locally made goods and different artisans. We look forward to seeing the Salamanca market which is only on Saturdays.Written 9 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - OZtraveller222Perth, Australia502 contributionsThere are several small art/craft shops in Salamanca. All sell wonderful items, lots of wood, some jewellery. Probably not the place for interstate travellers to fall in love with items because of their bulk and weight.Written 25 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - westy54Sydney, Australia13,477 contributionsWell positioned shop that offers a wide range of locally made and sourced goods for sale. We were particularly impressed with the beautiful range of paintings and photographs of birds and wilderness and nature settings.
There was also a wide range of other goods for sale with similar themes including jewellery, stationery, books, guides, homewares, soaps, some clothing items and other produce such as teas and olive oils etc.
Prices though, appeared to be geared to the tourist market.Written 23 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jen ManisonHobart, Australia140 contributionsWe go to their exhibition openings quite often and they are always interesting. I once went to watch Yillian painting which was an amazing experience. Giles Hugo's photography is astonishingly beautiful and I view his work every time I go in. We meet many people who recommend the art classes there, and it seems a great place to learn more about art.Written 9 December 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PeteGreater Hobart, Australia7 contributionsA jewellery collective is a comparatively rare thing. Here in Hobart within a marvellous Salamanca Place precinct there is a jewellery makers' collective that is remarkable in its quality and diversity., called FIND. There are eleven makers (I think) and always one on duty so you can get insight into the design and manufacturing processes involved.Written 21 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
