Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were staying at Battery Point and enjoyed the sculpture trail. It was a pleasant walk that provided an insight into the history of the area. Two great pieces of trivia were sculptures 313 - number of boats launched in the 1800s from Battery Point shipyards and 1909 - the year Errol Flynn birth at Sandy Bay. A further benefit was the option to stop for a coffee in Battery Point and a drink at Salamanca.

Modest, but attractive, city centre park near the harbour in Hobart, filled with intriguing colonial era monuments plus more modern ‘first native’ additions. The park is on a steep slope, but footpaths wind through it

I think that Salamanca Square is a little hidden away which is why it was so less busy that Salamanca Place, just a few steps away. It sounds a bit like a shopping mall but is in fact an open space, just behind all those beautiful sandstone buildings that line Salamanca Place.

There are bars, restaurants, cafes, galleries as well as regular everyday, non-tourist businesses. There’s also public toilets there too.

    Well worth checking out.

The park is quite large and encompasses Mt Wellington and the Pinnacle and is a fairly typical park. The are some tracks on the way up but the most interesting area is at the top.

This is an impressive walkway over the Tasman Highway and is described as all-abilities pedestrian and bicycle bridge. The Red Decker stops adjacent the Doone Kennedy Hobart Aquatic Centre and then stroll up Soldiers Memorial Avenue to the bridge. Architecturally and engineered aesthetically.

What was once the area of dockyard work, including whaling, Salamanca Place has become an attraction for visitors (and locals) wishing to revel in architectural delights, stunning art and craft work, and indulgence in one of the many superb cafes and restaurants. An absolute treasure whatever the weather or day, although on Saturdays, it also hosts a huge open market.
