Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The park is located on the western side of Kangaroo Island and takes a while to get to but well worth it. Start early and visit the Admirals Arch, and the Remarkable Rocks in 1 days. (many tours do Seal Bay also but we did that separately with the south and central part of the island). The park is a must do when visiting the island. We took a picnic lunch too. There are koalas living in the eucalyptus trees right outside the visitor center so we watched them for awhile.

We did the trail over 5 days, staying at Western KI Caravan Park. Following the fire in January 2020, the park is recovering and the walk was beautiful. Yuccas, eucalypts and wildflowers abound as nature recovers. We saw lots of wildlife, including goannas, wallabies, kangaroos. The best part was that we saw no one else on the trail, we had it all to ourselves!

Having concluded our maiden campervan adventure of 2 weeks, this was the only campground we had stayed and is also our favourite. Absolutely no traffic noise and no light pollution. The only sounds are of the winds, the rustling of trees and leaves, waves and the morning calls from all sorts of birds. A perfect site for taking photos of the Milky Way and star trails.

Our site (#10) on the Antechamber Bay side is the nearest to the toilet and sheltered BBQ area. As expected, there is no light, no hot water and no shower. The sheltered BBQ area looks impressive and has even water but we didn’t get to use it. The amenities and the bridge looked newly built.

The adjacent site #9 where the shared fire pit is located is quite near to our site. Luckily it was towards the end of May so that site and most others weren’t occupied.

The nearby beach was too windy and not too impressive during that time of the year. There is a higher ground with a bench on the other side of the Chapman River. The view there was better.

One important thing to notice. The steep drive leading to the sites is narrow and unsealed. On wet days, 4WD would be recommended.
