Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Probably the easiest lighthouse to get to when visiting Kangaroo Island. Well maintained attraction, huge lighthouse and lovely walking trails. The cottage gardens are lovely, even though they have many snake warnings. Lovely informative staff.

    Spectacular views of course.
We were the only 2 people there and in perfectly calm and sunny conditions, which we guessed to be unusual. Great history to the complex and the buildings appear to be in remarkable condition considering. Last 20 odd kms of the drive in was gravel but not rough.

When you look at the staircase leading up to the hill, and you think gosh, so many stairs………. Just do it, you will be glad you did, it isn’t as many steps as it looks! and the views are great! You get to see Kangaroo Island from all angles, good place to take photo’s. Large carpark, no toilet facilities.

Kangaroo Island is fortunate to have three lighthouses dotted around the island, all of them being accessible. This lighthouse is near the Admirals Arch and just a short walk from the car park. Spectacular views of the coastline.

Great range of freg seafood. Highly recommend the seafood plater which has a range of almost everythingm Fresh oysters, baby abalone, prawns and whiting. All super fresh. Get there early as there is a queue before they open. Great range of drinks as well.

After a long walk at Emu Bay beach, we went to the Lavender Farm for lunch. Unfortunately all of the lavender had been harvested a few weeks earlier but the lunch was nice. We had the quinoa salad with halloumi and the ciabatta chicken sandwich. They sell all kinds of products they make with the lavender and I bought a few lip balms.

This area is about 4 minutes drive from Kingscote main street and is worth the visit. A very beautiful and peaceful area with a lot of history related to both the island and South Australia. Search out the mulberry tree. If you are here late afternoon, treat yourself to a fantastic view of the sunset.

The spicy marron was fantastic. It ranked with the best chilli crab I have eaten in Singapore. The coleslaw was fresh and creamy and the potato wedges which seemed out of place soaked up all the sauces. Worth planning a visit.

Wiers Cove is worth a side trip to visit if you are visiting Flinders National Park and are going to see Admirals Arch. The views are spectacular and you can learn a little about the history of the cove and imagine what it must have been like living there

You can’t miss this attraction when driving into Kingscote town itself! It is huge and the art work is amazing! So much attention and detail to the art work and it looks amazing.
