- NatJAuckland Central, New Zealand26 contributionsIt's a fun tour to do if you have limited time in Adelaide. You get to see the best tourist attractions at Kangaroo Island. We got to see the seals, kangaroos, and koalas up close. We got to pet the koala as well!
The downside of this tour is that it is long and you spend most of your time sitting on the bus. The tour guide does give out the history of the surrounding areas so it was bearable or spend your time napping in the bus while getting to the next location haha.

The first one was an impromptu tour that was quickly organized when our tour ship was supposed to go elsewhere and ended up with an extra day in Adelaide. We did an Adelaide city tour, followed by a drive to Lofty Point, the highest point in the area. Our guide, Peter was great and stopped along the road, when he found a koala sleeping in the crook of a tree branch.
We next went to a town called Hanhdorff and had about 2 hours to wonder around.
Then it was back to the ship.
It was a nice tour, the guide was great and the company was nice to put it together at such short notice.
The next day we did the winery tours with lunch.
This was also a great tour. Our guide today was named Thomas and he was quite entertaining.
He stopped first at a reservoir that had a parabolic wall, where we could hear someone whisper from one side to the other.
There was a wild kangaroo in the park that we were excited to see. A Thomas pointed out mobs of kangaroo under trees to us as we drove on.
He took us to 3 wineries and we had lunch at one of them. All three wineries were different and the wines were all good. The place we had lunch, a winery called Lamberts, served us lunch during the tasting. We had no choice in lunch and they brought out pizzas to the table. They were good, but there was nothing else to eat and if you didn’t want pizza, there was nothing else. Dessert was a cookie from a package. Really not a great lunch. The port we were served called The Chocolatier was amazing and we bought a bottle.
Each winery was different and all of them were very nice. That being said, it was a pleasant river cruise, and a good lunch. I enjoyed having a beer and watching the river go by. The two wine-tasting experiences were amazing. I got to try out 12 different wines. We also got to see a koala up close haha.

- Gaye S8 contributionsAdi from AUSWASH was cleaning the bus after our tour yesterday and he found my wallet. (Photo attached of my saviour). I had lost the wallet the day before on our tour and was very stressed.
He not only called me the next day after our tour but returned my wallet to me at our apartment.
Adi is one of a kind with such integrity and honesty, a rare thing you find in a person these days.

Lamberts winery was the highlight in the Barossa. Hahndorf a nice little village with heaps to do and see.
