I was traveling with a family member, and I must admit I would not have booked this tour, but they wanted to go.
That being said, it was a pleasant river cruise, and a good lunch. I enjoyed having a beer and watching the river go by. After all the running around we did, it was nice to sit back and just enjoy the day.

Leaving from the Stanford Plaza after an overnight in downtown Adelaide we set out for the Ferry Terminal at Cape Jervis for a smooth trip to Kangaroo Island. After two days we returned to Mannum to board the Murray Princess. Our cabin was on level two, very comfortably appointed with a double and a single bed, good bed linen, refrigerator, tea, coffee, chocolate and complimentary water. Modern ensuite shower and toilet, roomy drawers and wardrobe as well as a duchess area. Cabin was air conditioned with shutters over the door and window. Meals on board were very well appointed with choices at lunch and dinner. This cruise also included two “Murder Mystery” nights, one being Death on the Nile (Murray) and The Gatsby Night murder. These were very well conducted and excellent entertainment! Would highly recommend a trip like this for the scenery and relaxation.

This is a low key river cruise. The cabin was ‘authentically’ dated in its decor and bedding but quite suitable for us. The activities are very low key. We chose to visit a large drive through safari style zoo which was a pleasant way to fill our morning. Other activities were bocce, fishing, regional produce tastings which were all on board or at the mooring.
On a very personal note, the captain, first officer and night porter all stepped up at 2:00 am when my husband had chest pains and was evacuated off the paddle steamer at 3:00 am by tender boat to rendezvous with emergency responders down river!

We enjoyed it but it is high on price and low on quality.

A 7 day trip up and down the river exploring and watching the vista pass by was very relaxing.

The on shore excursions to the Barossa Valley ,entailed long time spent on a coach and a short time at the wineries ,which ,although they ( the booking agents ) said there where tastings of the product ,it was meagre at best ,but sell ,sell sell .

The food on board was one level above average ,with the staff walking around serving with one hand behind their back was beyond ridiculous.

The meals took a long time to come out and when they did they were cold .

A woman bar attendant ,was rude and hostile ,loading our bar tab the bottles of wine we never ordered ,lucky we checked.

Over all ,the experience was great ,not so the bank accounts, value for money was certainly not there .
