On the first occasion the taxi for both legs was booked by Rockford Winery, where we were going for lunch on a Thursday. The Taxi arrived on time at our accommodation in Tanunda to deliver us to the winery at 12-00 and was waiting for us to return at 5-00pm (having phoned me to advise of its arrival).
On the second occasion I booked the first leg out to Kies winery on the Saturday the day before but was unable to book the return journey being advised that I would have to phone back around the time that we were ready to leave. When you are in Australia I recommend you use the services of AusChauffeur. We had a group travel across Australia and AusChauffeur looked after us everywhere we went. I emailed and was initially told that I could only book via expedia. That’s ok, but there was no link provided. When I asked for the link all I received back was a one line email with the link. No pleasantries or thanks for choosing them.
The driver was great, friendly and helpful from the airport to the hotel.
When it came to confirming pick up time I phoned to ask what they would suggest, not knowing the city and how long it takes to get to the airport. I was again, not given any guidance, and was repeatedly asked what time I would like to be picked up. I chose a time based on how long it took for us to get from the airport to the hotel hoping it was long enough. The shuttle didn't turn up at the requested time and I phoned to check it was on its way, only to be told that it was peak hour traffic and that I should give it time! Given that I had asked for advice in the first instance this answer was more than annoying! When the van arrived, the driver was very apologetic and again great.

Our driver was early on both legs of our journey. He was extremely friendly and provided a very safe, comfortable drive. Our transport including shopping time along the way. The recommendations for the shopping were perfect and went off without a hitch. - CoroonaAdelaide, Australia513 contributionsI have been a significant and regular user of the Adelaide taxi service especially the independent operators.
Despite attempts to make them more consumers focused, I continue to get drivers that have no idea of how to get around Adelaide. Many have little idea of the best route at busy times of the day.
The classic is when they say they don’t have change for either a $20 note or a $50 note. It’s a classic scam. When tested and they are told that not having change is their problem and not mine they always find the change.
I have now opened an account with the alternative driver service and they are now getting a significant share of my business. These drivers also have problems with the best routes, however they are materially cheaper and being able to get out of the car without exchanging cash is a material benefit.
What a pity the Adelaide taxi service has been unable to change . What a pity that a number of their drivers try to maximise their fares through dodgy means.
It’s all about people, training and systems. All wineries were recommended to us by Jeff and none of them disappointed. - Amanda S1 contributionThe tour with Australian Elements Tours and Charters was absolutely amazing, David went above and beyond to make sure everyone was having a great time while also taking us to some amazing hotspots when we had spare time. He also told us interesting information and history about the different locations we were driving past.
David was not only knowledgeable but was also kind and always had a smile on his face.
