Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visited on Thursday 27th February. While we were at Victoria Square we checked out the fountain, we also saw it at night all lit up which was great.

This fountain was one of two that was cast in the 1880's and originally sat outside the Jubilee Exhibition building that was on North Terrace. Both fountains were handed over to the Adelaide City Council by the State Government in 1908.

This fountain, the smaller of the two, eventually found its way to Rundle Mall in 1976 but has been moved around to several locations in the Mall before being placed in its current position in front of the Adelaide Arcade.

The fountain has two basins and has been beautifully restored and repainted in various shades of green with touches of gold.

This unusual fountain was pointed out to us during our Adelaide Sightseeing Tour. It looked like carved sections of rock until we had a closer look. Sure enough, the sculptured rocks looked like sections of a backbone, installed in a cluster and with water flowing from the spigot at the top of each. Different and a nice feature. I've since discovered that it is a sculpture by artists Angela and Hossein Valamanesh and stonemasons Tillett Natural Stone Industries. The fountain was unveiled in 2005
