We visited 2 wineries and had terrific wine tastings, with a great lunch at 1 of them, plus a visit to the Penfolds cellar door for optional tasting, and finally a chocolate and wine matching experience.
This was wrapped in travel through the beautiful Barossa Valley, with great scenery and many historic points of interest.

Given morning tea and virtually straight into lunch. It was a nice meal but portions were't very big. Had a chance to see birds on the river. Didn't go far really as only a 2 hr trip while the longer cruise people were ashore at Mannon. It was a very cold wind. We had time to walk around Mannon but found anything interesting was closed. It was quite dead really.
Area had suffered from the earlier floods. Stopped at Chocolate and Cheese factories . No demonstrations or tastings - just buying . The 8 hours flew by with a great mix of vineyards for tasting and lunch, the chocolate factory and Maggie Beers Farm visited.
Tour was even flexible enough to include some 'spur of the moment' gin tasting at Maggie Beers.

He focuses on those that are really wanting to learn about wine and have a quality tasting. He grew up in the Barossa Valley so literally all the wineries know him because he have lived there his whole life. - M17stuffIrvine, CA8 contributionsOur two days with Bob at Saviconnect were the best wine tasting tour days we have ever had. We visited Barossa Valley the first day and McLaren Vale the second. We communicated our preferred wineries to him and he created an itinerary which included not only those wineries but included additional ones at his suggestion. It was clear that he was well known at each location and we were treated very well everywhere we visited. Our lunch stop at Artisans was restful and delicious. Bob was knowledgeable about the area, Adelaide history and the various wines produced there. Our cruise line shortened our second day and Bob adjusted our itinerary to start earlier. He got us where we wanted to go and back to the ship with time to spare. Bob picked us up at our Airbnb and drove us to four very different wineries (three excellent, one just good) . He knows a lot about the history of Barossa Valley and Adelaide and shared great deals while we drove. We tried wines that I wouldn’t normally and they genuinely surprised us in a good way. Lunch was also a standout. The food was delicious. A large selection of foods without being too much. We did both and were blown away by his knowledge and contacts. It was the best two days of our month of great days in southeast Australia.
