Bumpy, challenging drive from Kingfisher Bay Resort. Go early to avoid cars and tour buses. Large car park. Easy walk to lake. Bring water, hats, sunnies, sunscreen, umbrellas. Gets very deep so bring blow up donuts. Amazing, clear waters. Crowded as popular spot. Saw a couple of turtles. Could spend whole day here.

Great natural lazy river… just beautiful!
Installations are great and clean. We saw a few dingos but they were very chill.

If you want to ever experience driving in the sand, this beach and its vehicle highway is the place to do it - just watch out for those waves coming in with the tide!

Amazing lake. Small carpark for about a dozen cars. Clean waters, saw a couple of turtles. Great if you want a quieter lake - with much less people than Lake Mackenzie. Can get very deep so bring blow up floaties or donuts.

Nice place to visit and get a feel of how things were years ago. What really made my day was the unbelievable size of the stag horns and ferns that grow in this part of the rainforest because all throughout Fraser Island the plant life differs immensely but blows you away.

Easy to miss the sign as driving inland. Drive in to road that says Lake Wabby lookout. Small car park. We got there 11:30am and got one of the last parking spots. Short walk to amazing lookout of enormous sand dune and a bit of the lake. Was overcast so didn’t have problems with hot sand that others mentioned. Challenging, steep walk at times - (30-40 min one way) for those that are not fit or able to do.

Bring lots of water, hats, umbrellas as no shade… Not allowed to bring food-to discourage dingoes. Great swimming in emerald green waters, it gets deep, quickly though- Bring blow up donuts. Or boogie boards if u want to slide down steep dune into lake. We had fun with the big catfish and lots of small fish that nibbled on our legs/feet. Saw a turtle pop its head up. There were a few groups of people around.

This was easily one of our top spots on Fraser. The fenced campground is really nice, nestled in the bush with lots of space and good facilities. The beach just down from the campground is fantastic. Sand dunes to play on, shallow inlets for the kids to play in, the beach and rocks for fishing. There are always a couple of dingoes going around so be mindful if you have children though.

We adored the champagne pools, coolest spot on the island. We wished we’d timed it with the tide so we had way more time there. Easy walk to get there, spotted a dingo in the carpark, what a gorgeous mermaid pool, nice and deep, being your goggles to see the fish. Great experience with the waves crashing against the rocks. We climbed up the sand dune right at the top end of the beach before you can go any further and the kids (and adults) loved running down. Total highlight!

Take the time to walk up to the sign in the dunes and read the fascinating history of the Maheno. It would have been a sight to behold back in the day. Not much left of it now, but great photos of the waves surging through the wreck. Well worth the stop.

Had a glorious swim on the north side of Indian Head. Crystal clear water and perfect temperature. Reckon in the right swell, it would be excellent for body surfing. Love the protection that the headland gives.
    Just a beautiful spot.

Visited on Friday 24th February. Another not to be missed place to visit on Fraser Island, it was amazing walking along the creek on the board walk and seeing the water so clear and the white sand below.

Visited last month, so much to see and do on the Island. It is an island of contrasts from rainforest to sandy beaches, all different and with their unique character. Well worth making this somewhere special to visit.
