Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- ONomadeSingapore, Singapore58 contributionsThis is a beautiful sandy beach, worthy of a visit, rain or shine. In March, with a fair amount of rain still there - more than in previous years, I was told, the wet season seems to get longer now - it is perfect for a relaxing walk. If the sea is not very rough, there is an area protected from stingers where you can swim. The beach has lots of space and amazing views. Do check it out if you are near Port Douglas.Written 19 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Robin FArlington, VA12 contributionsLovely - but didn't see much wildlife. And the "waterfall" was quite small - attractive but small. Nice small beach, rocky - glad I went in. - pratibha46Sydney, Australia138 contributionsPort Douglas is about an hours drive from Cairns.
All the way you drive along mountains on one side and ocean on the other side. It reminded me of Great Ocean Drive.
The town has beautiful palm trees and their information centre has all the information about the surrounding of this World Heritage Listed place.
Accommodation can be from backpacks to luxurious Mirage Resorts.
Lots of eateries and coffee places.

- EatWithYourEyesMossman, Australia20 contributionsBeautiful venue with incredible cocktails. Perfectly balanced and always consistent. The staff are polite and knowledgeable with interesting stories and backgrounds. We're so lucky to have this place in Port Douglas, and you pay the same price for cocktails in the pubs.
The only thing I would suggest is cleaning up the bathrooms... They were so bad I almost felt unsafe.Written 19 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
