Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Ellen L1 contributionThe tour was amazing! Mattew was our tour guide and he was so funny and knowledgeable and thaught us so much! The best thing about the trip was the dip in the lagoons in the rainforest.Written 8 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Amy ZArlington Heights, IL10 contributionsDue to a booking mix up, we were stranded in Daintree without a car. I very fortunately reached out to Tony's Tropical Tours and couldn't believe my luck when Kirsty quickly arranged a private day of touring for our group of 4. She went far above and beyond to organize a fantastic experience with our amazing driver/guide, Gary. We went on a lovely, peaceful hike, rode on a crocodile boat tour and saw 4 crocs, swam in a crystal clear creek, and more. Gary is so knowledgeable about all life in the rain forest, and as a bonus we even saw a cassowary, a family of pigs, and multiple lizards. I can't recommend Tony's and especially Kirsty and Gary enough! Kirsty saved us from what would have been an extremely disappointing day!Written 11 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sarah BSheringham, UK9 contributionsAbsolutely brilliant day! Plenty of space on the boat and pontoon. Quite choppy conditions and the crew could not have been nicer or more helpful.
Snorkelling was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed the semi-submersible boat. The talk by the marine biologist on the way out was fantastic.
Our son is Type 1 diabetic and we coukd not have felt more looked after and safe by every crew member we spoke to. Lifeguards were amazing, crew members put food aside for him to have when it was convenient around exercise and levels rather than a timed slot to eat and care given to him when ge wasn't feeling well.
This is the third reef trip I have been on but the first time I have been with Quicksilver and if I ever have a fourth trip it will be with them - no hesitation. This crew go the extra mile- they even rescued my husbands hat when it blew off (even though he had been warned to hold onto it!) as it was a very sentimental one! Can't thank them enough.Written 23 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A bit of walking, a bit of learning, and a bit of cruising along the river on the river sleds.
Really good fun and would recommend, we had 13 and 15 old boys with us and they loved it too.
Would definitely recommend.
Would also recommend if you have a hire car, to drive up there and take a bit of a picnic as where you finish up, is a great place to spend the day lounging around int he very shallow river.Written 21 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Paul WEttalong Beach, Australia23 contributionsWe booked the half day Daintree tour but had an issue with our booking due to personal circumstances. The staff helped us out and the customer service that we received from Zoe was top notch. I couldn’t recommend this company more highly. Definitely five stars.Written 6 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Gloria L1 contributionHighly recommended experience of the Great Barrier Reef! My partner and I opted for 2x Introductory Dives and a snorkel. All three excursions were professionally run and the staff were very accommodating of all skill levels. Loved the energy of the crew and special shoutout to our host Faye!Written 9 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sharon B2 contributionsEnjoyed an amazing cruise today Low Isles Wavedancer. We were kept informed of activities on the day with clear extensive instructions. Lunch was wonderful. Although water activities were not for me I appreciated the support of my elderly partner who enjoyed snorkeling. A glass of wine and music along with singing on the return trip was a nice bonus. While all staff were polite and helpful Hayley’s passion for her chosen career was remarkable and Simons personality perfect for the job.Written 14 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kat NLondon, UK1 contributionWe had the most incredible experience on our Blue Adventures Rainforest and Wildlife Tour and will be raving about it to our friends back in the UK. Our guide Mark Fraenkel was very knowledgable and thoroughly engaging. My kids also found him highly entertaining and loved his jokes and quizzes 😁 . We feel so fortunate to have seen so many wonderful endangered species from the Mareeba Rock Wallabies to the Duck-billed Platypuses (felt like they made a special appearance for us!). The highlight for my boys (age 8 and 11) was also getting the chance to hold a jungle python and to zoom around on the golf buggies looking at all the Eastern Grey Kangaroos.
I still have images of the very special curtain fig tree in my mind, I don’t think I will ever see a tree as amazing as that. We also loved the restaurant that Mark brought us to -the Teahouse at Lake Barrine. All in all an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Thank you Mark ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Written 24 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Carol and Rick TToronto, Canada9 contributionsWe had an amazing morning out with Bill. We learned so much about life in the rainforest, away from the typical walks you might take. He tailors the trip to your interests and we enjoyed both his level of knowledge and his reverence for living things.Written 10 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Andria GNew York95 contributionsWe were here during a series of heavy rains and every day was a scramble to see which tours were operating. Ended up booking the Cape Tribuilaton Combo Day via this company but the bus that picked us up said Down Under Tours. (My experience was there seemed to be a lot of crossover between all the tour booking companies and the tour operators in Port Douglas) This was a well organized, well paced day, got to do a river boat, see a little bit of Daintree Forest & and a little of Mossman Gorge. The aboriginal presentation at Mossman Gorge was a little weak but the trail was scenic. Never could have done it all in day on our own. Our thanks to our guide Xavier who was always around pointing things out to us that we would have otherwise missed.Written 29 December 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 4deegees2019Centennial, CO3 contributionsChris has been in the area for 30 years and knows the local information that you won't get out of a guidebook. A little light on the textbook history of Port Douglas, but quite interesting nonetheless. He had quite a bit of knowledge about the birds and plants of the area. Would definitely recommend.Written 30 September 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
