Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Steven KempAuckland, New Zealand121 contributionsWe came across this boat hire when visiting the marina. The next day we rang and booked with Sue who was great and helped us with their training process. These boats are easy to operate and we enjoyed anchoring up the inlet for lunch before exploring the small rivers. Tide was in so no opportunity to see crocs although Sue told us that a boat earlier in the day at a lower tide saw several crocs. - Victoria B6 contributionsWe recently stayed a week on "Emerald Lady" and loved every aspect of it!
It started when we were personally welcomed by William at the Helicopter Airport and than flew together with him to the Yacht. It was an incredible experience seeing the Great Barrier Reef from top and flying towards a Yacht like this.
Emerald Lady itself is perfectly build for rought weathers like we had, and what a stunning yacht! The rooms were spacious, saloon had more than enough space and we had several places to choose from, where we'd like to eat outside, but protected from the wind.
We loved the fact that there was so much to do on board. We took a Dive instructor with us, so that was our main activity, but additionally we did fishing, snorkeling, waterskiing, Seadoo and much more.
While the boat was great, it would not have been the same without our out-of-this-world crew. It will be easiest to talk about each one of them seperately. Neil, our captain, was probably one of the most professional, experienced and trust-worthy captains I have ever talked to in my life. Even in stressing situations he kept his cool and it was absolutely fascinating to listen to his adventures on different yachts amd boats. Seth (I hope this is the right spelling) was a second captain from Port Douglas, who knew the Great Barrier Reef more than anyone else. We were extremely luckly to have him, since he brought us to the calmes and most incredible places. Trevor, the engineer on board, never hestitated to give a hand on things when he was needed and always had a smile on his face. When we did fishing, he showed his incredible skills and fished us two massive reef fish. Michael, the chef, definitely was a main reason we enjoyed this trip so much. Every single meal met our expectations exactly, and let me tell you: we are not easy to be inpressed when it comes to fine dining. Our dive instructor Tom was very professional and calm throughout every single dive we did. He showed us hidden places and small things, other people wouldn't have even noticed. Cat, the stewdess or waitress on Emerald Lady did such an exeptional job in providing us with a smooth running experience. She did not only take great care of us, but it was always nice talking to her, since she has seen a lot of this world. For us, the most hard-working and incredible crew member on Emerald Lady was Adrian. Additionally to his incredible hard job (we saw him working literally all the time), it was like he could read our minds, when we needed a hot tea after a cold dive or when he saw that we were struggling with anything at all. So special shoutout to you Adrian, but also all thw other crew!
We as a family have been on many chartered yachts and after this stay we all agreed that this was the best crew we have ever had.
Hope to see you all again soon!Written 1 August 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Only one type of bait used soft "pilchards" and only one style of fishing aloud "bottom bashing", we are very experienced in and only caught to just legal trout . I would never use Norseman charters again or recommend to any traveling friends or familyWritten 2 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
