We swam in the netted area. We hired some day beds and an umbrella. It was awesome and it was a patrolled beach.

This was great value as the entry pass lasted 5 days! We had a couple of hours one day and had missed the cassowary feeding so we were able to visit again earlier in the day. We safely got very close to see the cassowary, a rare find in the wild otherwise.

I wouldn't usually call myself a bird person but it's difficult not to be blown away by so many different beautiful Australian birds. Max, the red tailed black cockatoo, was super fun and very cheeky. We're so fortunate to have these gorgeous creatures in our northern back yards.

You can feed Kangaroos and emu, take a close look at a crocodile and have photos with snake, koala or baby crocodile. You can even swim with the crocodile on the other side of some seriously thick perspex.

We've been to lots of Australian zoos, reserves etc but this would have to be our favourite because with so much time to spend there you can really get to know the local wildlife.

Nice way to spend a Sunday morning in Port Douglas. Was quite busy owing to a number of weekends of bad weather but still easy to get around and look at the stalls.

The council controls/approves each vendor which means this really is a good quality market with a wide variety of stalls. I usually struggle to find anything of interest at markets these days as they all tend to be ticky tack that is found everywhere. PD Sunday Market was really good and managed to find a few unique items to buy.

Not a huge range of food/drink options but there are at least 4-5 food vendors and a couple of drink vendors.

What a really great experience and day. My wife went snorkeling for the first time and we both encountered our first helicopter flight over the reef. A truly remarkable experience. The whole day was made great by the friendly staff on board our vessel and whilst we were on the pontoon.

This is a magic place to visit. Make sure you step inside and take a look through the glass window overlooking the ocean. Read the story of the chapel and check out the leadlight.

A good walk to get a view of the area - well sign-posted - a little uneven in parts and a couple of steeper short sections - so not for those unsteady on their legs - but great for younger family members as well as their parents.

Take a walk, check out what is happening on the water, buy some fresh prawns from the boat, walk on the wharf, the church and enjoy the gardens. Toilet facilities too.

provides outstanding views of the area and a bit of a light workout up and down a few stairs, but not too difficult as we are in our late seventies and managed it fine.

The Port Fouglas Marina market is not a big market but it is a reasonable market if you can only appreciate those stall holders who do show up every week. Unfortunately Covid has had a big hand to play with why things have changed so dramatically. Love the Fenglehorn chilli stall but my absolute favourite is Andrea's scarves. They are affordable, beautiful, versatile and fashionable. Will definitely be back.

Largely vacant with only a few restaurants and the Marina to visit. The brewery was doing a great trade.

This isn't a major museum but is worth visiting for the interesting displays, especially on the only female hanged in Queensland.

Port Douglas is about an hours drive from Cairns.
All the way you drive along mountains on one side and ocean on the other side. It reminded me of Great Ocean Drive.
The town has beautiful palm trees and their information centre has all the information about the surrounding of this World Heritage Listed place.
Accommodation can be from backpacks to luxurious Mirage Resorts.
Lots of eateries and coffee places.
    I really enjoyed this place.
