Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Daintree rainforest tour was our highlight with a combo of activities. The tour was outstanding, informtive, educational and fun. It was a good pace through the beach of Cape Tribulation, the informative history of the amazing Daintree Rainforest, the deliciious lunch at beautiful Heritage Lodge (with excellent friendly service), the Crocodile Boat spotting in the river (we saw 2 on the beach and one REALLY large one), the live small Cassowary, the Unique Ice Cream with the interesting fruit trees and the Mossan Gorge walk. All four adults really enjoyed the journey.

This tour is 100% worth the money. Michael was amazing. He offered a seamless service making this tour very relaxing and stress free. The scenery is absolutely amazing, even on a day when the weather wasn’t the best. This is definitely a bucket list tour.

The tour is exactly as advertised, but the tripadvisor page doesn't give you all of the details. This is one of those "tourist trap" kind of situations where once you're on Green Island everything costs extra money. I expected that going into it, but just be aware that's what you're getting yourself into. For example the included snorkeling does not include wet suit to protect from stinging wildlife nor does it include a life vest for easier flotation - those cost extra.

    Things I liked:
    1. The glass bottom boat tour was fun and the tour guide was a marine biologist who is very knowledgeable and friendly.
    2. Access to the Green Island Resort pool is included so you can spend time relaxing in and around the pool area for no extra cost.
    3. Green Island is a tropical island far from the mainland, no street noise or other distractions out there. It's easy to find a peaceful spot and relax.
    4. There is cell phone reception on Green Island (at least there was for me - I was using AT&T International plan)
    5. The ferry from the mainland was comfortable and the crew were helpful in telling us what to expect and how to stay safe while doing the activities provided.
    6. Free water is available at the bar near the pool.
    7. One of the restaurants serves a "seafood basket" which has excellent calamari, or at least it was great when we visited.

    Things I didn't like:
    1. The glass bottom boat tour doesn't last very long - maybe an hour at most and it stays close to Green Island, you won't see any other parts of the reef.
    2. Finding the spot where you check in is not as easy as it could be. You have to realize that you're not looking for "Great Adventures" you have to look for signs for the actual company name on your reservation.
    3. They start boarding early so you need to get to the check in spot extra early just in case.
    4. You can leave early if you want to but the tripadvisor page doesn't say that. You don't have to stay the full 8 hours, ferry goes back to the mainland a few times during the day.
    5. Regarding the pool area, towels are NOT provided. If you don't bring your own you won't have any. The chairs are mostly not padded and will get very hot if left in the sun.
    6. As I mentioned - food, drinks, etc. on Green Island are pricey due to this being a tourist spot and resort.

This was such an amazing trip I’m struggling to find enough vocab to describe it. From the moment we booked to boarding the yacht, sailing out to the reef (breakfast en route) the getting a couple of hours snorkelling in before lunch. The weather was perfect on Monday 2nd September. Visibility was stunning. We chose the assisted dive. Glad we did. Swimming with a turtle 5m beneath the surface is other worldly. We had a brief excursion to Green Island and sat on the beach enjoying the sun for about an hour - but soon decided we’d catch the next tender back to the dive boat and carry on snorkelling. When it was finally time to weigh anchor and hoist the sales for the return to Cairns the crew brought us wine and cheese for the journey home. A totally unforgettable experience. Perfectly planned by a company who really know how to look after people. I cannot recommend highly enough.

We had a great trip, AJ was great !!!

A little bit annoyed because yesterday we got a message from your company about a 6:30 pickup, when in fact AJ came at 7AM (just as scheduled during previous communications and emails), not his fault!!! and as a result of that we missed breakfast.

The tour was fun and well structured.
Tremendously appreciated was the luncheon provided by Chillagoe Cockatoo Hotel and Motel which was excellent !!! ….while also being gluten free!!!!
Very grateful, thanks for a great trip !!!

This is the perfect tour if you want to see great sights around Cairns in bite sized bits in a small group. We walked through the botanical gardens, on golden sands of a beautiful beach, went for a swim underneath spectacular water falls, tasted sugar cane and more... The guides Grant and Dom shared interesting stuff in a relaxed way with lots of laughs along the way making the day a lot of fun!

You can’t go to Cairns and not do this tour. We had the BEST time! Big shout out to our guides Esta and Elliot, who made the day so much fun! We learnt so much about the Atherton Tablelands, the waterfalls and the wildlife. Josephine Falls was a particular highlight!

Great trip despite the weather. Really windy and rough conditions to get out on to the reef. The crew were very informative and helpful to prepare us for what to expect. They sold motion sickness tablets on board which was a big help.
We did the snorkelling which was a lot of fun. All of the required gear was supplied. The crew were amazing and so attentive. We were given informative talks about all of the wildlife and what to expect in the reef.

    Would highly recommend.

I went to Green Island with Big Cat- I caught the reef rocket for a day trip from 12-4. I can’t fault Big Cat- they had a very informative safety and snorkelling briefing at the beginning of the cruise, the staff were very friendly, the boat was spacious and well maintained/air conditioned, and the buffet lunch aboard the big cat was very yummy. I went on both the glass bottom boat and semi submarine tour which were both amazing! I wish they would’ve been longer than 30 minutes! The only thing preventing me from rating the whole trip 5 stars was the smell of the Island, but Big Cat were amazing!! :)

Our family greatly enjoyed the views of the Daintree Rainforest and the beach, the well-prepared lunch, and the delicious ice cream. We also saw some dangerous crocodiles in their natural habitat.

We spent a lovely day at Fitzroy Island, with the glass bottom boat being an absolute highlight! Hannah, our guide, was brilliant and so knowledgeable. We opted for the package that included lunch, which was nice enough for a buffet offering!

I was tempted to knock off a star because the weather wasn't great so it was a but cold and the snorkeling views weren't the best, but still we saw some coral and it's not like Sunlover control the weather! I would just say that if the weather's not looking the best, bring a jumper for after you've been snorkeling because we really could have done with one.
