Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great Barrier Reef diving overnight live aboard trip. Staff were excellent and facilities very good. Dive sites were varied and in good condition, and activities offered included day and night diving, fluoro diving and snorkelling

Enjoyable trip to see the coral and fish, just what I needed to fill up a half day. Trip over from Cairns quite rough due to overnight weather but well worth it. The crew were great and help many people who suffered a little. On the island I do not swim and not confident in water so to have option of glass bottom boat was great, was amazed how much we could see. Super morning.

Absolutely loved our day out. So much to see and do. The team were amazing with our kids(3yrs, 6yrs old) My son had never snorkelled before but he was well looked after as he entered the water and had an absolute ball. A great day had by the whole family and our English guests ❤️ Thank you

The First Nations guides on our trip were incredible at their jobs as hosts and crew members, and they are rightfully employed in enterprises that profit from their stolen lands.

However the approach to the sharing of culture does them disrespect, there is no mention of the dispossession of First Nations peoples or their struggles for justice and equality. Mentioning Captain Cook crashing into the reef while “exploring” is an offensive presentation of history in the context of a First Nations cultural experience. I can only assume given these things that this business is not First Nations owned, and so if the owners of this company are not going to hand over equity in exchange for this cultural profiteering, they could at least do a respectful job of engaging with this community and allow them to lead the presentation of their culture on their own terms.

The experience of the reef was super fun and well executed however.

Cool river cruise on an uncrowded catamaran style ferry. Quick trip out through the heads of the Mulgrave river to Normanby island. We had a great snorkel on the lee side of the island so we were out of the 15kt south Easter which was crucial. Lovely island walk where sandals were very necessary. On return we saw two crocs in the river , one being a massive male croc called Clyde. My son got to sit with the captain with the other kids. Great food and snacks and a totally satisfying day.

The Big Cat Green Island Reef Cruse was an excellent tour. The island itself is beautiful, and when we got there for the day there was enough time to walk all the way around the island before our glass bottom boat tour, which I thought was really well timed. The glass bottom boat tour is an absolute must! It's so different to snorkeling, I saw so many different fish that I didn't see during the snorkel tour. I would definitely recommend doing both if you want to see as much flora and fauna as possible on your trip to the reef. The staff were lovely, very helpful and informative, especially the woman that did the snorkel tour, she was amazing. The included buffet lunch was delicious and the bar on the island served lovely drinks as well. Over all an incredible day, well worth the money.

A great full day cruise, with catamaran return transfer direct from Cairns marina. Easy booking service, checkin and launch. Although the onboard boat staff appear busy, your needs are met.

The tour included a glass bottom boat tour of the surrounding reef, showing huge tropical fish, live coral, large clams, turtles, reef sharks and marine life.

We took our own snorkel equipment and stinger suits, the on-site life guard was very helpful, informative and friendly. This way, you can enjoy and experience everything the island has to offer. The island team are great, providing exceptional professional service. You can snorkel directly from shore and will instantly see huge tropical fish, memo and turtles.

The resort had great amenities, and will make a perfect mid year tropical island getaway.

As the island is teaming with birds, you’re greated at the jetty with bird life, the rooms and accommodation is further away and relaxing.

The crocodile enclosures and show is fabulous, the family team are passionate and love their crocodiles as their treasured family. The passion for the crocodiles is high and genuine. Well worth the small entry fee. The kids and adults alike loved the personalised crocodile feeding tour.

The natural rainforest on the island is in pristine condition and easy to walk along the timber boardwalks.

This is a great way to easily experiencing and enjoy Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, without seasickness and hassle.

The scenic Green Island is surrounded by Cairns city and nearby mountains and islands.

A great day trip and holiday destination.

This was such a fantastic experience from every aspect. It was VERY active, with a possible total of six dives over the two days, so those with health challenges may wish to reconsider. Every aspect of the hospitality was superb, right up to the availability of prescription masks for those of us who wear glasses. I highly recommend it!

Blue Dive is stellar, and our guide Jess is the best! We are beginner divers, and her instruction was very thorough and well explained. She was very patient as we got the hang of it, especially when we had some trouble equalizing on descent. She guided us through the reefs to see wonderful sights. She pointed out some fantastic marine life, including giant clams, huge cuttlefish, and even a gray reef shark, which was amazing! I very highly recommend Blue Dive and Jess for diving the Great Barrier Reef!

All round amazing experience! Explored the Great Barrier Reef while also getting our PADI open water certification!

    1. The first two days of practice and theory was well run with:
    - concise notes with digestable learning
    - practice dives with clear instructions and tailored advice

    2. The two days out at the reef were fabulous with:
    - Tours to fantastic dive locations at Saxon and North Hastings Reef
    - Friendly and helpful crew
    - Great spread of food on board
    - Saw an array of aquatic life, my favourite was the white tipped reef sharks and giant clams.

    3. Franky who ran the course was Frankly amazing. Honestly made the experience so worthwhile with great knowledge, patience and banter. If you go, I hope you get Franky!

    Highly recommend! 5 Star!

Went out on the reef tour yesterday and the CREW absolutely made trip! We had bad weather and the crew made a bad day good! Couldn’t be happier with the experience we had. Very nice boat with a smooth ride and plenty of amenities. The crew waited on us hand and foot. If you’re spending the money to be in Cairns to dive/snorkle, don’t short yourself on the trip! Book with Tusa.
