We booked mainly for scuba diving the Great Barrier Reef which delivered in spades. Whilst certified advanced open water divers we don’t get to go often so aren’t fully confident. Our scuba guide Nils was fantastic and gave us a very thorough briefing on the boat on safety and what to expect.
We dived at Milln Reef (club 10) and three sisters. We saw blue spotted sting ray, giant trigger fish, clown trigger fish, yellow spotted trigger fish, lots of parrotfish (blue, purplish), butterfly fish, trumpetfish, half-circled angelfish, sweetlips, Māori/Napoleon Wrasse, Spinecheek, pink and eastern clown anemonefish (Nemo!). On the way back, he even drove us through Palm Cove and Port Douglas and gave us several recommandations about do's and dont's. - Till DwyerSydney, Australia27 contributionsIf like me you are someone who prefers not to spend all day getting sunburnt on a boat, this half day tour is the perfect way to get in some beach and snorkel time without having to spend a full day in the sun.
The Reef Rocket boat departed Cairns on time and we reached Green Island by 10am leaving just under 2 hours for snorkelling and sunbathing.
There’s limited coral however plenty of fish and other marine life to see! Beaches were beautiful and facilities as expected.
We were back at cairns marina by 1pm - in time for a nap before heading out for the evening.

She was friendly and had so much information to share while we were traveling to each destination. There are bathrooms at each stop to change into swimsuits and back into dry clothes, but only 1 stop to get food/drinks.
