First location saw a huge amount of marine life on the reef. In the second location there was a bit less in terms of marine life on the day I visited but I did see a shark there which was great. One of the best experiences I’ve had travelling. Take a GoPro if you can. Scuba lessons were offered for a very reasonable up charge. Snorkeling was well supervised. Captain and crew were ever present. - Carmen DSherwood Park, Canada7 contributionsOur guide James (Jim) was amazing! He is an absolute wealth of knowledge of not only the area but of the plants and critters who live in it. He was able to point out a lot of things for us to see that we would never have noticed on our own. It is evident that he loves his home and what he does! The tour was really good. The natural beauty of the area is wonderful and it was amazing to see such old/thought to be extinct plants and trees. The ride on the Daintree river was very nice (though we did not see much in terms of wildlife - can't expect it everytime so no big deal). The tea break and lunch were very good. The owner of the restaurant that we stopped at for lunch was incredibly knowledgeable about all of the tropical fruit that grow in Australia. The ice cream stop was also very good. - Nomad375828112182 contributionsDid the 3 day/2 night liveaboard on Ocean Quest in November 2023 and it was amazing! I had already done about 25 dives and my sister just got her open water at the beginning of the month, and this was a great way to dive a ton with lots of cool people from around the world. The guides and crew were all super friendly, knowledgeable, and really went the extra mile to make it a fun and memorable experience - THANK YOU! The dive sites were great, and we got to see a lot of life and beautiful coral. The night dive and "sharks in the dark" were both really unique experiences, too. The staff was very informative and the whole experience was seamless. What an adventure! There was snorkeling, diving and a glass bottom boat so something for everyone.
The owner happened to be on our boat and talked to us most of the ride home ! Everyone is so very friendly. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and kept us all up to date with what we could expect on the tour at every place we were to stop at. The morning tea, lunch and ice cream stop were all great and our walk through the forest on the boardwalk was amazing with lots of photo opportunities. We loved the boat cruise down the river looking for crocodiles and it was so quiet and peaceful out there. My only complaint was the very rough ride that my husband and I experienced sitting at the very back of the bus as a lot of the seats were taken by single people travelling on their own and we wanted to be seated together. So only the back seat was available when we got on the bus. But apart from that, everything else was great. - Maggie W1 contributionWhat can I say about this trip, simply it was fantastic!! We travelled up from Melbourne especially for it based on previous reviews and were not disappointed. Safety is No. 1 priority on the boat, the crew make sure everyone knows what to expect and they do it with a sense of humour. We had 2 snorkel trips out to the reef with one of the crew who towed an orange life ring which was visible at all times so you always knew what direction to snorkel in. The food was first class, and having a small party of 20 passengers was lovely. The very friendly welcome and the introduction in the beginning, preparing for snorkeling and introductory diving, the two different reef sights, the excellent food and the very friendly and well knowledged crew.
We had a terrific day and made many long lasting memories.
