Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- chunk1974Ottawa, Canada79 contributionsI booked the Platinum Tour and ended up having a private tour with Anna. She was the best and made the day so enjoyable. It felt like I had known her for years. I cannot say enough great things about her. Her passion for the sanctuary and all of the animals is genuine and infectious. I absolutely had one of the greatest days of my life with her.
The sanctuary is an incredible place, and all of the staff there really enjoy what they do. I highly recommend the platinum tour especially if you are coming from far (Ottawa for me). This gives you so many experiences that are once in a lifetime. Although it is expensive I understand why, and it is worth every penny.
All of the animals are expertly taken care of, the place is clean and staff informative and friendly. Always willing to answer questions or just talk.
Please visit and support the sanctuary. One stop shopping for your Australian animal experiences.
Thank you to Anna, the animals and everyone at Lone Pine for giving me a truly unforgettable experience.Written 6 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CasandraTPSydney, Australia4,146 contributionsWe traveled from Teneriffe to St Lucia then back to Southbank which took around 90 mins. It is the perfect way to see the Brisbane River and all city sites the city has to give. There are different cats, some with a second floor and even one with a cover that protects you from the sun, but do remember the sun screen just in case. You are meant to tap on and off the cat, at the moment it is 50 cents but if you don’t tap twice it is $2.50 which is still a bargain. The ferry stops we went to don’t have seats near where you enter the cat so if you need to sit stay near the opening. Oh and I just loved all the different designs of all the bridges. When visiting Brisbane this is definitely worth doing.Written 8 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Samantha FBallarat, Australia1,237 contributionsYou can get the #471 Bus here which stops at Mount Coot-Tha Lookout along the way. Very busy here on a Sunday afternoon. Free entry, was beautiful and maintained. There was a wedding at the time which the wedding party took over the Japanese Gardens. I will return to visit more of the gardens.Written 26 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Dan LBunbury, Australia8,536 contributionsOutstanding ferry service on the Brisbane River and service the CBD, Southbank and Kangaroo Point and its free. KittyKats are catamaran type ferries with a 60-passenger capacity, very popular in the mornings and late afternoons. We had learnt from our previous visit and waited until late morning before venturing to the ferry port at Holman Street.Written 7 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tash KAdelaide, Australia389 contributionsWhat an incredible find. Was a little concerned driving down the backroads but all of a sudden the shipping containers appeared. Once parked, you could hear the live music and feel the vibe.

- ItchyFeetCamarillo, CA11,581 contributionsThis was just a couple blocks from the W hotel that we stayed at W while in Brisbane. It’s immediately next to the City Hall and King George Square. There are lots of shops and food options here. Interesting for us is that a lot of the stores were American stores and brands. There’s definitely a lot of American influence in the Australian cities. This a nice place to walk around looking in store and have a bite to eat. We did this on the morning that we were leaving on a redeye flight back to the states so we didn’t spend as much time here as we probably would have liked to.Written 7 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
