Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Janice HBrisbane, Australia1 contributionAnimals well cared for, enthusiastic animal handlers who you can tell have a lovely relationship with the animals. The family had a great time today at the sanctuary!Written 7 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sarah London8 contributionsI echo the positive reviews on here but for one thing - the swarms of bikers and scooter riders who weave through the crowds, often at speed, as if it's the last lap of the Tour de France, and usually without warning. Their lack of consideration (there are notices about shared spaces) for pedestrians and assumption that they're entitled to hurtle through the crowds makes a stroll along the river akin to taking your life in your hands.Written 5 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CasandraTPSydney, Australia4,091 contributionsWe traveled from Teneriffe to St Lucia then back to Southbank which took around 90 mins. It is the perfect way to see the Brisbane River and all city sites the city has to give. There are different cats, some with a second floor and even one with a cover that protects you from the sun, but do remember the sun screen just in case. You are meant to tap on and off the cat, at the moment it is 50 cents but if you don’t tap twice it is $2.50 which is still a bargain. The ferry stops we went to don’t have seats near where you enter the cat so if you need to sit stay near the opening. Oh and I just loved all the different designs of all the bridges. When visiting Brisbane this is definitely worth doing.Written 8 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ellie Florence25 contributionsA beautiful area of natural beauty with opportunities to see the city of Brisbane from afar. We got the bus from Brisbane CBD to the Botanic Gardens which was around 30 mins and only $1 return with a go card. The walk between the botanic gardens and the lookout took around 50 minutes in the heat and has an incline on the way to the summit. Some level of fitness required and may be unsuitable for some as multiple sets of steps. The cafe was reasonably priced considering the location and ice cream was very well received after the walk in the heat! There are multiple walks around the summit and a bus that travels between the botanic gardens and lookout. I would definitely recommend for those looking for an escape from the city!Written 11 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. KittyKats are catamaran type ferries with a 60-passenger capacity, very popular in the mornings and late afternoons. We had learnt from our previous visit and waited until late morning before venturing to the ferry port at Holman Street.Written 7 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Peter HWokingham, UK10 contributionsIt was an excellent visit. Tori gave us a very interesting & informative tour. Great display of minerals and types of opal in the museum. We bought a necklace with an opal pendant afterwards and the Scottish lady assistant was helpful with sorting out the customs declaration. There was a wide range of jewellery on display.Written 3 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- WorldTravla7Cairns, Australia8,631 contributionsI came with bestie Christine & daughter Soph to take in the the talk of the town, Lightscape, in September 2024. Uncle Dave shouted & we Ubered from Kelvin Grove into the City on dusk for the light spectacular. We had a blast & the whole night was magical. There were 2 indigenous light sculptures and the whole City Botanic gardens (which is huge) was lit up with colour and light exhibits from top to tail. It was a 1.8km trail through the gardens taking us beneath tree canopies illuminated in colour, larger-than-life flowers, shining neon roots, and through dynamic glowing tunnels all made of light. On our journey through the light spectacular there was a surprise cocktail bar (we opted for espresso martini’s), a marshmallow toasting station (Soph loved this) and a line up of food vans at the end to take care of dinner with plenty of choice sweet crepes, German sausage & sauerkraut, kebabs & more. The gardens really transformed into something otherworldly & it was an unforgettable night.Written 12 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ItchyFeetCamarillo, CA11,472 contributionsThis was just a couple blocks from the W hotel that we stayed at W while in Brisbane. It’s immediately next to the City Hall and King George Square. There are lots of shops and food options here. Interesting for us is that a lot of the stores were American stores and brands. There’s definitely a lot of American influence in the Australian cities. This a nice place to walk around looking in store and have a bite to eat. We did this on the morning that we were leaving on a redeye flight back to the states so we didn’t spend as much time here as we probably would have liked to.Written 7 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GregTrav28Orlando, FL685 contributionsReally enjoyed tue Lego Brickman dino exhibit. Didn't see much else of the museum but that exhibit was very cool even though it cost. Mainly geared for kids probably 6+ as our 5 year old didn't have the attention span dor some of the exhibits.Written 21 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
