Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Sarah London8 contributionsI echo the positive reviews on here but for one thing - the swarms of bikers and scooter riders who weave through the crowds, often at speed, as if it's the last lap of the Tour de France, and usually without warning. Their lack of consideration (there are notices about shared spaces) for pedestrians and assumption that they're entitled to hurtle through the crowds makes a stroll along the river akin to taking your life in your hands.Written 5 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ellie Florence25 contributionsA beautiful area of natural beauty with opportunities to see the city of Brisbane from afar. We got the bus from Brisbane CBD to the Botanic Gardens which was around 30 mins and only $1 return with a go card. The walk between the botanic gardens and the lookout took around 50 minutes in the heat and has an incline on the way to the summit. Some level of fitness required and may be unsuitable for some as multiple sets of steps. The cafe was reasonably priced considering the location and ice cream was very well received after the walk in the heat! There are multiple walks around the summit and a bus that travels between the botanic gardens and lookout. I would definitely recommend for those looking for an escape from the city!Written 11 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. KittyKats are catamaran type ferries with a 60-passenger capacity, very popular in the mornings and late afternoons. We had learnt from our previous visit and waited until late morning before venturing to the ferry port at Holman Street.Written 7 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - wombatdavidHobart, Australia2,702 contributionsWe love a walk through the gardens and were staying nearby at the Royal hotel. It was slightly spoilt by the light scape stuff installed at present. I am fine with the natural beauty.Written 1 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- den132acf4 contributionsThe building alone is worth the trip, fantastic collection, and very quiet and peaceful if you want a break from the museum next door….the First Nations art works are stunningWritten 21 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ItchyFeetCamarillo, CA11,444 contributionsThis was just a couple blocks from the W hotel that we stayed at W while in Brisbane. It’s immediately next to the City Hall and King George Square. There are lots of shops and food options here. Interesting for us is that a lot of the stores were American stores and brands. There’s definitely a lot of American influence in the Australian cities. This a nice place to walk around looking in store and have a bite to eat. We did this on the morning that we were leaving on a redeye flight back to the states so we didn’t spend as much time here as we probably would have liked to.Written 7 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GregTrav28Orlando, FL685 contributionsReally enjoyed tue Lego Brickman dino exhibit. Didn't see much else of the museum but that exhibit was very cool even though it cost. Mainly geared for kids probably 6+ as our 5 year old didn't have the attention span dor some of the exhibits.Written 21 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sarah CAshtead, UK1,294 contributionsA lovely museum, which we hadn't realised was tucked into the Town Hall. Fascinating history and some quirky exhibits too. - Dan LBunbury, Australia8,537 contributionsNice park area alongside the Brisbane River, admittedly we spent most of our time at the upper levels, too many steps down to the river walk although ok near the Holman Ferry stop. Great area for cyclists, walkers and those exercising their dogs or to just have a lie down and enjoy a snack. Some attractive public art throughout the park at river level, the natural history trail also interesting. Lengthy walk and enjoyed a coffee from Alfred's Mobile before catching the ferry.Written 7 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - punkingirl2013Auckland, New Zealand255 contributionsMuch more interesting than first thought. The clock tower is full of history and is free to go up but you must book your time. The hall is beautiful and the foyer not what I expected. Full of history.
