They say it's the journey rather than the destination, and yet with this tour, we got the best of both worlds. Hands down, the crew on the boat was outstanding. The day we went to the Koala sanctuary the weather was sunny and hot. When we boarded, all of the covered seats were taken, so we sat inside the boat. On the way back, we made sure that we were on the boat early, and we snagged covered seats on the top deck. The river cruise ship offers food, which was surprisingly delicious, considering the constraints of cooking on a pontoon boat. The Lone Pine Sanctuary was the highlight of our trip to Brisbane. We had an advance reservation to hold a koala and get a photo, however we were told the policy has now changed to requiring you to wait until the day of the trip. The photo experience sells out fast, so you must make your reservation as early as possible. It was an awe-inspiring experience to hold such a cute, unique, and endangered animal.
