Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Located just down the block from our hotel, this small, romantic hideaway was our go to place on our weekend in Brisbane. I enjoyed the wine list and he enjoyed the whiskey selection. Really nice decor and ambiance... service was a bit slow. There was only one gentleman working.

We recently came across In Cider Trading cider bar and bottle shop tucked away at the top end of Wickham Street in Fortitude Valley. It was one of those serendipity moments where we were looking for something else that had been recommended to us but instead we found this little gem.
Dan made us feel immediately welcome and took time to make us feel comfortable even though he had plenty of regulars there who were obviously familiar to him. Although only small everyone finds their own space and can still feel comfortable due to the number of different rooms behind the main bar area, including a small enclosed courtyard.
Dan gave us some good suggestions on our preferred Cider, then proceeded to take us on a journey of discovery with his encyclopaedic knowledge on everything cider. We still settled on our choice of French but were tempted to try a number of others and took his advice to add a dash of Mead. A great addition to a cool glass of sparkling cider.
There is an array of ciders from around the world plus many boutique Australian producers on display in the main bar / bottle shop area at the front. Prices cover bottles, by the glass from the tap or wine by the glass or bottle. Not only were we spoilt for choice with a great range of ciders but Dan stocks some very well priced high quality wines from some of Australia's best boutique producers. The prices are exceptionally good value and make it a tough choice between good cider or very good wine.
Food is available from a range of good Asian take aways all around In Cider, and Dan told us he'd be happy to plate it for us if we wanted. And we would have stayed longer but we were on a quest to discover another little gem - a great Thai restaurant that will feature in another review. Dan also told us we could bring our own food if we chose. It's that kind of warm friendly place that goes out of its way to make one feel welcome.
We know we'll be back now we have the inside knowledge on this great little gem. It opens Tuesday to Saturday so we reckon a Saturday afternoon would be a great way to relax and chat with Dan about his pasion and incredible knowledge of all things in cider.

It’s the hottest venue in Brisbane. Chic interiors detailed to within a millimetre. Staff are designer styled. Food to match.
The menu is very SPA. Japanese inspired and meticulously followed through.
Sharing is encouraged but not essential. We shared a calamari that was quite extraordinary. It was a surprise really, it was simply grilled with a spicy dressing that packed a little punch, just delicious. And being lunch we had the poached chicken salad. One each. We felt virtuous having the ordered a low cal option. It arrived looking drop dead gorgeous . Very pretty, every leaf and shaved radish perfectly placed.
My expectations wilted ( not the pert hand picked leaves ) ...it looked too virtuous.
One delicate mouthful and our eyes widened and our jaws dropped for more.
It was so simple and so so good.
The wine list is full of smart wines. We had the Rose, as you do.
    Best to book.
