- Susana GVMadrid, Spain2 contributionsFor visiting Kakadu I would recommend a longer trip, maybe 2/3 days. But if you do not have enough time, as in my case, this tour allows you to see a bit of the park and enjoy its amazing landscapes and wildlife.
I had already done another tour with Leigh, our guide, so as soon as I saw him I knew we were in good hands. He is a great guide and provided us with all the information we could need, from the story of the park and the aboriginal people of this area to the wildlife and climate of the region. - Daraius1 contributionMy wife and I took the day tour of Kakadu with Offroad Dreaming. It was a well-organized tour with only 13 people on a bus. Prior to the tour Emma and Vicky, the ladies in the office were very helpful and gave us all the information we needed for the tour.
Brook was the driver as well as our guide. Whilst the tour was almost 12 hours long, the bus was very comfortable. Brook made the trip very entertaining.
Brook was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information which made the tour worthwhile. We enjoyed our trip to the wetlands where we saw a large variety of birds, flora, and fauna. We also got to see wild boars which is quite rare as we were given to understand.
The picnic lunch organized and set up by Brook was enjoyed by all on the trip. The cruise was also another highlight where we got to see the freshwater crocodiles.
Rock art on the cliff face was fascinating. We met an indigenous elder who explained the art and the weather in Kakadu.
Brook certainly deserves commendation as she went out of her way to make the trip entertaining and informative.

- Philippa K1 contributionThe tour guide, Evan, was so knowledgeable throughout the day. There were so many birds to observe and photograph, as well as coming across a croc on the bank. Evan was then able to give us so much information about the habits and physical structure of this female croc. - Jennifer G2 contributionsThe Adelaide River Memorial is a must. As an Australian, it was so impactful to see how many lost their lives in the bombings of Darwin. I say bombings because Darwin was bombed over 60 times, spanning nearly 2 years. The Katherine Gorge cruise was fantastic, our guide was a local Aboriginal man who was very knowledgeable. The lunch was a really good buffet.

The female was smaller and seemed to be able to lunge out of the water easier and further than the male as it wasn’t so heavy. Had a great guide, Annie who was very knowledgeable and I loved her connection to the indigenous community and culture. Plenty of snacks and iced water was provided and we had a simple but tasty lunch. Several beautiful swimming holes were refreshing breaks. The day was broken up into short drives. - quindanutsDunsborough, Australia8 contributionsWe flew out to Kakadu from Darwin (airport) in a twin engine Cessna 204 piloted by Declan. He gave us a very informative and concise commentary of landmarks and the history of the vast vistas we passed over. We landed and went on the Yellow River boat cruise for 90 minutes that was teaming with wildlife and many croc's as would be expected. Lunch and the opportunity of a swim in the pool was provided for a midday break at Barra Bar (Jabaru) restaurant and a visit to the cultural centre before a direct flight back to Darwin.
