Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

During the festival, Darwin is abuzz with excitement and anticipation. As evening approaches, the main location, the festival park, begins to glitter with lights and lanterns and excited people. The shows are often original, courageous, and powerful, as well as quirky and unique. The venues are usually special too. You might watch shows in the huge amphitheatre in the Botanical Gardens, in another garden, under huge milk wood trees, in the remaining surrounds of the old Town Hall, and in other interesting spots. The festival is organised well. The only problem is the popularity: tickets might sell out quickly and spots to sit in the park can be hard to find.

Bruce Munro's outdoor installation covers about a mile, and comprises about 8 illuminated sculptures. You guide yourself by following signs on the pavement -- kind of like a treasure hunt. We overnighted on a cruise, so returned to Darwin at night to see this spectacular exhibit. Fiber optics create magical opportunities to take your breath away. Other artists' works are part of the fun. Tropical Light runs through April, I think, so if you happen to be in Darwin or the area, don't miss this -- definitely a must see.

The Darwin Street Art Festival adds colour and charter to the streets of Darwin that can be appreciated all year round! Now with over 100 murals around the city and suburbs … it is a feast for the eyes! I love the app (free) that brings some of the paintings to life with animation or music and also has a map to find all the murals and some information about the art & artists.
A visit to Darwin would not be complete with appreciating the street art of Darwin!
I can’t wait to return and see more next year!
