Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Deborah GShell Cove, Australia49 contributionsSuch a gorgeously laidback, fun venue on the water. We were lucky to be there for the International Film Festival and on the night we went, saw three short films set in the NT that were all excellent. Live music was included, and Sri Lankan food and mixed drinks were available for purchase. Producers, directors and film stars gave talks after each movie, and the star of Bear was available for cuddles, which I took full advantage of! The deck chairs aren't the most comfortable things you've ever watched a movie in, but there are other seating options, including bean bags. Can't recommend this enough.Written 10 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- japed0001Perth, Australia149 contributionsWas the wet season and 2 of the restaurants are closed . However the weather is still balmy , warm and nice . Casino is very quiet . Perfect getaway if you want the place to yourself .Written 17 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ellie G1 contributionAwesome set up with confined rooms for smashing and a huge range of objects and equipment to use. Was provided with a quick safety briefing & protective equipment, before getting straight into our two cartons worth of smashing. We purchased a medium/large item to also, which was a huge TV to destroy, they even recycle these items afterwards. Had a great chat with the owner, who even threw in an extra cartoon of glass bottles for smashing & some vouchers for lunch. Would definitely recommend for a good laugh or to get some anger out!Written 4 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - rupertCanberra, Australia5 contributionsNo wonder I couldn’t find this place on TripAdvisor. It’s being referred to as an Aquatic Centre.
This pool has been a family favourite on our trips to Darwin and I have fond memories learning to swim here and less fond memories of school swimming carnivals.
Overlooking the cliffs at Nightcliff with views out to sea and to the distant Casuarina Beach. The sea breezes on hot afternoons and the shaded seating areas make this a great place to visit, relax and cool down.
The building and facilities are basic, largely unchanged since the 1970s (I was there), but it’s enough. Change rooms with showers and toilets and a small kiosk for drinks and snacks but not a lot else. Come prepared.
The adult entry fee is $4, which I think is great value.
There’s a little pool for the babies and toddlers with a central fountain feature too. The pool team do run classes and some lanes can be hired and closed off. There’s usually at least one area left fully open. Call ahead if you have any concerns.Written 24 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The kids all had a blast and in between games they loved playing on the arcade games. The staff were excellent to deal with and couldn’t do enough to help out. Best of all is that at the end you can just go home as staff helped clean away all the mess. Extremely reasonable priced and you won’t be disappointed. We will definitely be back.Written 20 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- DMandTMPerth, Australia139 contributionsNice simple but fun putt putt layout that is suitable for all ages. It is priced pretty well too. Golf range facilities looked good too.

The pool tables are a mess. Low quality to begin with but covered in rips. Again old, tired balls. A tiny selection of cues all of which are old and mostly damaged. They have a good selection of arcade games and prices are reasonable.Written 29 June 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - B3NJ1Queensland, Australia190 contributionsSadly, these are Darwin's only squash courts. In saying that, they're not too busy, are reasonably priced and have excellent facilities. Staff are OK.Written 15 June 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Steph SDarwin, Australia195 contributionsCinema is a welcome haven walking in from the heat. Quick service, comfy seats if only a little dated and in need of a clean.Written 7 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AussieBeneanMelbourne, Australia51 contributionsWe booked seats in the Ted Bailey stand for Darwin Cup Day. Tickets were over $500 for a 3 course meal, drinks not included. We were happy to pay this to be inside in air conditioning. What we didn’t expect was a table in an area that ended up being like a public bar. We had a wristband but anyone and everyone came in to stand in the cooling, making the area crowded and hot. I was sitting on the end of our table and got quite a number of drinks down my back as people walked by. The bar had one person serving and was at times four people deep for the length of the bar. No table service for drinks so each time we had a minimum 30 minute wait at the bar. People were soon buying multiple drinks to save going back but it didn’t help the queue. The food was just nice. Wasn’t great to see waiters weaving through crowds with food , not very hygienic. Tables behind us had problems with outsiders coming in and standing in front of their table to watch the race, at least we could see the track. Overall a lot needs to be changed to make this lunch worth the money before I would consider going again. If you are considering this as an option , don’t waste your money.Written 2 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
