The dining room is clean but a bit cramped. Not much commentary as suggested, or entertainment. The night scenery is not particularly attractive when compared with other harbour cruises which we have done. I wasn’t a fan of having to walk to another hotel for hotel pickup In the dark though as a solo female traveller because my hotel wasn’t on the list. Didn’t feel very safe, but it is what it is. The guide Paul was Very friendly, funny, and entertaining. I’m an ex tour guide from many years ago when I did a working visa overseas, and he has the right stuff to become a good guide. His customer service was excellent. He’s very new to tour guiding so was a bit “green” with his speels etc, but that will come with time and experience. He needs to get his local knowledge of Darwin and wildlife etc more up to speed quick smart, or the overseas tourists will eat him alive when they start to come back to Australia. He is very keen and any question he couldn’t answer he researched it and got back to us. He would always come up with a good joke and make us laugh. He was a good and safe driver also. The croc experience was awesome. Loved it. I liked our little stop on the way back to Darwin at the Humpty Doo pub for a quick beer. The boat had comfortable seats, lunch was big enough to feed two people. Just a beautiful place. Don't expect to see jumping crocs, you have to find them in their natural habitat. No easy feat at all but Evan managed to spot them! We all enjoyed the experience of watching the crocodiles jumping. Good to test your adrenaline. From the warm reception as we boarded to the introductions and personal welcome from new-ish owners Grace and Munro followed by the service throughout the cruise, the hospitality was relaxed, yet attentive and genuine! The food portions were generous and delicious (that smoked mackerel is incredible!!!) and drinks were cold and plentiful. The commentary was interesting and informative and notably, personal - not just some scripted or pre recorded token tourist info stuff but instead offered anecdotes about their own time in the top end which made for a pleasant change for us having been on multiple cruises over the years. Plus it wasn't too intrusive so we could still keep talking amongst our group without feeling like we had to stop anytime they were talking.

Not only did she have a massive amount of knowledge about the area and nature, but also her communication- and people skills were outstanding (to me that’s very important in a tourguide!). There was so much to see along the road and she made sure that we got the best out of our experience as a group - including a perfect swim in the (crocfree!!!) Florence Falls! - Julie S1 contributionKakadu is an amazing place to visit! The scenery us beautiful. But what really made the trip for me was our tour guide Elliott. He was super informative on many different topics , wildlife, history, daily life in the top end. If you have any interest in bush tucker or the cultural information of the area then this tour is for you, I learnt so much! There is something for everyone. Camps are comfortable and the food is tasty. There was never a dull moment but still plenty of time for your own space.
Thanks Elliott for the fantastic trip.
