Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Capt_FunkeliciousSydney, Australia676 contributionsi've been to my share of markets, and these were pretty good. we got there right on sunset and it was absolutely stunning. the markets were predominantly food-driven, but there were enough stalls to be interesting. and quite a few of those stalls were offering items specific to the northern territory, so it felt genuine in that way. it was very well-serviced with cabs at one end to whisk you away when the time was right.Written 11 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sevenNelson Bay, Australia33 contributionsThese markets were great - a much better proportion of food stalls to product stalls. Still a bit crowded but more manageable ( eg queues not as bad). Nice Vietnamese iced coffee, good food options. Would def go again. Mindil - I won’t.Written 16 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marnie C24 contributionsThese markets always impress. The pawpaw salad at the entrance is the best you will find in Darwin. The fresh fruit and veg is amazing. Everything you need for an Asian salad or stir fry and the ready made sweets - delicious!Written 3 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ellen RDarwin, Australia8 contributionsWhat a fantastic array of local Northern Territory and Australian art, craft and clothing! Beautiful fabrics. Wonderfully accommodating staff. Met the artist who designed the print on the material we purchased. Fabulous experience.Written 18 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lorraine LTarwin Lower, Australia3,581 contributionsWe have been in Darwin a few times but were unaware of this market. Nighcliff seems to be a bit of a trendy area and the market is in the main shopping street. There is lots of shade here and there is plenty of seating either in the cafe or along the centre of the road. There aren't as many food trucks here as at Mindil Beach Market or Parap Market but there seems to be more craft stores than the other two.Written 5 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Vicki JWoodend, Australia570 contributionsA wonderful collection of art something for everyone. Very knowledgeable and helpful, we came away with a woven pandanus mat. - Kaz HNhulunbuy, Australia124 contributionsWhat a fantastic initiative. The staff was great, the menu has variety but not large. Coffee was very good. Try the fried damper. 4 huge pieces with abundant jam cream butter dusted with plum dust. - Raintree_ThailandBangkok, Thailand4,441 contributionsTypical mix of shops and restaurants in an open-air, walk-through setting. I had to go there to find an eyeglasses shop for an emergency repair to my glasses and was given very kind help from a wonderful staff at the OPSM shop. She went out of her way to repair my glasses and didn't charge me for her efforts.Written 28 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MissingMyDogOttawa, Canada81 contributionsUseful shopping centre which is open on Sunday. Note that it straddles the highway. Coles on one side, Woolworths on the other. There is also a Kmart which we haven’t seen in Canada for years.Written 7 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Frank_de_BosBlaricum, The Netherlands124 contributionsThis small farmers market at the north of Darwin Airport is a good place to eat. You can reach it by bus, and of course easier by car. It is a pleasant way to spent the evening. Much smaller than Mindil Beach Market, but enjoyable to. Every piece of work I wanted
Better yet it feels relaxed and no pressure to buy.
Loved the fact that artists paint both on and off site and come and go to suit themselves
It added authenticity to me to see the artists at work and I was also lucky enough to see an artist bring a piece of work in.
If you’re in Darwin it’s easy to find and close to the city centre.

Paul was very helpful and emailed us a catalogue after we had to return to Brisbane. Will be going back next time we're in town. - Lyndall SLismore, Australia180 contributionsUpstairs in Mitchell St but well worth the visit. A large collection of indigenous art at very reasonable prices. We went in to browse and bought two pieces. I am very pleased with the artwork I bought of Ronald King from Katherine. They also printed out a photo sheet of the work and artist.
