Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Kathryn BEast Sussex, UK51 contributionsWe are touring Australia for 2 months and included Alice Springs purely to visit the Kangaroo Sanctuary! It has always been my dream to meet Brolga ( as many before me, a little in love with him ) A charismatic, friendly man with clearly an enormous passion for saving kangaroos & Joeys! The most wonderful tour with him and his gorgeous rescues! I loved every single minute, if you get to attend this tour you are very very fortunate!! Love love love you and what you do Brolga/ Chris!Written 16 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mark EWhitianga, New Zealand802 contributionsThis was our last stop on our West MacDonnell ranges day trip.
There is good parking.
Good footpath.
Lovely scenery.
If you are patient at the right time you will see the Rock Wallabies on the rock fall on the opposite side.
There was a lot of water in the gap this time, the most I've ever seen.
There must have been a lot of rain recently and 2 days after we left Alice Springs the road out to this area was closed due to flooding near Ellery Creek.Written 11 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. While basic (as described on the website), it was good value for money.Written 20 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Cedric ÅStockholm, Sweden97 contributionsI was a bit worried going out on this long bike tour on my own in the midst of the summer heat. I was surprised by how well maintained the path is. It works really great to go from Alice Springs town centre out all the way. There's sealed paths all the way and quit decent signs. For the path itself from Flynn's grave out to Simpson's gap I'd recommend taking a photo of the map at the start or downloading one. Although it's impossible to get lost it's nice to have a sense of how much is left. There's some nice spots along the way to sit down. The first one of these has a tank with drinking water and drinking water is also available at Simpson's Gap. This was one of my biggest worries since it was 40 °C but with 1500ml of bottles it was well enough with these refill points. Biking gives a different experience of the scenery than driving. It's great to get a feel of the nature, enjoy the silence, take a few nice pictures. There's almost no steep hills, only gentle up and down. I just took it slow on the way up and enjoyed zipping down when it was sloping down. I'm not that fit but found it very possible to make it back and forth from Alice in an afternoon, although I was really tired afterwards. Just make sure you have enough protection agains the sun since there is very little shade along the way, enough water bottles and enough time so you don't get stuck in the dark.Written 17 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Shannon H6 contributionsAMAZING!
I went on the tour late July 2024 and it was perfect. Alex our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The tour included walks each day and the views were amazing. Uluru has been on my bucket list for a while, and this ticked it off better than I could have imagined.
I did three nights and 4 days - just the right amount of time.
Swags were warm and comfortable. Food was great. It was easy to make friends with people on the tour. Highly recommend.Written 13 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The displays and exhibits were informative and beautifully done. We learned so much. Women had to be strong to survive in that harsh environment in the early days and, as one display said, they often feared childbirth more than accidents or disease since if there were complications there might be no one around with the needed training. We also learned about the important role women played during World War II in Alice Springs and throughout the country. Women stepped up just like they did in my country, the US. I loved the stories about amazing Australia women such as The Honourable Julia Gillard, former prime minister, Senator Larissa Waters, maritime engineer Claudene Sharp Patel, Marlene and Marilyn Kong, the first indigenous people to become doctors in Australia, publisher, Paula Barrett and her important work, and Australia's first female geologist, Georgina King. The lovely woman at the front desk was so delightful and helpful, my husband took a photo of the two of us. This museum is definitely worth a visit if you enjoy learning about history and women's role in making Australia the wonderful place it has become. We actually visited during our 2 month trip to Australia and the south Pacific region in October/November 2022. The calendar didn't go back that far. I'm current creating a scrapbook about our adventure.Written 27 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - annie b1 contributionWe hadn't expected so much variety. Bill was an exceptional guide, informative, amusing and caring. We were a group of 8 old friends with no travel experience in this part of Australia, so Bill made sure we saw the amazing sights around West MacDonnell ranges. The colours, rock formations and stories made a huge impression, all the better for the time of day he chose for our trip. Our comfort was at all times assured and we left the area quite affected by his passion for Central Australia.Written 14 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
