Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a beautiful Cultural Centre. Watching the Aboriginal Artists work was fascinating. Their artworks are amazing. A wonderful cultural learning space. Really loved the story telling in the sand.

Located at the Transport museum south of Alice about 5 minutes drive from the gap. There are several carriages kept in reasonable condition showing what life was like onboard. In the museum area there are several rooms dedicated to the construction and history of the route as well as various other pieces of significance.

A great example of what it was like if you broke the law in the early 1900's. Segregation for the Europeans and the indigenous locals. Interesting comments in the old journals. Great reading of the wall posters. The visit does not take long but it should be done.

My husband and I really enjoyed our visit to The Women's Museum of Australia and Old Gaol. The displays and exhibits were informative and beautifully done. We learned so much. Women had to be strong to survive in that harsh environment in the early days and, as one display said, they often feared childbirth more than accidents or disease since if there were complications there might be no one around with the needed training. We also learned about the important role women played during World War II in Alice Springs and throughout the country. Women stepped up just like they did in my country, the US. I loved the stories about amazing Australia women such as The Honourable Julia Gillard, former prime minister, Senator Larissa Waters, maritime engineer Claudene Sharp Patel, Marlene and Marilyn Kong, the first indigenous people to become doctors in Australia, publisher, Paula Barrett and her important work, and Australia's first female geologist, Georgina King. The lovely woman at the front desk was so delightful and helpful, my husband took a photo of the two of us. This museum is definitely worth a visit if you enjoy learning about history and women's role in making Australia the wonderful place it has become. We actually visited during our 2 month trip to Australia and the south Pacific region in October/November 2022. The calendar didn't go back that far. I'm current creating a scrapbook about our adventure.
