Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were staying in Sydney for a holiday and visited this museum. Firstly you can get there by ferry from other parts of Sydney which is such a great experience. There is a lot to see and do here and is very suitable for children. You can go onto some of the ships but beware of you are claustrophobic do not go on the submarine. The only criticism is that the cafe is quite small and so we found it hard to get anything to eat or drink. Either bring your own or walk to other areas.

A friend and I decided to go on impulse after a work lunch. It was her choice and I wasn't sure, although I remembered enjoying the underwater tunnel when I was in high school. It was really good and I'd recommend a visit even if you don't have children with you. It's a deceptively large venue so leave at least an hour but we took about 90min. We ended up spending a fair amount of time around the main tank watching the fish and dugong. It was super relaxing and my Fitbit thanked me for the visit.

We went to the breakfast with koalas. The tour was great and our guide Bailey was fun and informative. The tour was before opening so it was quiet and we got to see some zoo keepers working before opening. It lasted about an hour before we went to breakfast. Food was standard and decent. After that we got to go into the koala area and took some photos. You don’t hold the koalas, which I thought you did. Still worthwhile.

My advice would be to eat quickly and get the photos taken - you can go to the zoo and if it’s early enough you’re walking around alone which was really cool.

Although it was a little hot and crowded, the set up of the establishment and the figures themselves are awesome. I particularly loved learning about the history of madame tussaud herself!

I did this walk as part of the Bondi to Manly walk but the easiest way to access this trail is from the Taronga Zoo ferry. This bushland walking track follows the shoreline and is mostly flat with a few stairs and is well graded, well maintained and signposted. There is a lighthouse at the point and I saw a kookaburra. There are some views across the harbour towards the city and the Harbour Bridge which were excellent. It is one of the longest harbour bushland walks, particularly if you continue onto the Taylors Bay track to Chowder Bay and the Headland Park and Balmoral and I found it the most pleasant.

We stayed at Murray Street, the other end of Pyrmont Bridge. During our stay we used to cross the bridge to reach Darling Harbour. It was always a nice walk, both in day and evening. The view of harbour always amazing.

This is evidently a great attraction for the young and not so young. Plenty of activities, play areas and fountains to engage and excite the kiddies and amuse the adults. Good variety of dining options crowded when we visited so just enjoyed an ice-cream. Not sure what was afoot behind the hoardings.

Lovely area featuring featuring various restaurants and bars with great views of the waterfront. Enjoyed our meals in the restaurants visited as we people watched and viewed the various activities on the water. It also serves as a terminal for the ferries and Captain Cook hop-on-hop-off harbour cruise. An area with a great vibe.

    Went to theatre for concert.
Not a lot of leg room, legs were aching by the end.
Food over priced for what it is. Not a lot of gluten free options.

Not one of the best aquariums I've been to by a long shot. Tanks are quite old and not that clean looking. The whole theme looks like something from the 60s that hasn't been updated. OK if local and need a place to go with kids but for out of towners I'd give it a pass.

Noticed the Welcome Wall as we disembarked the ferry at Darling Harbour. It records the names and pays tribute to migrants who have arrived from 200 countries and called Australia home. Over 30,000 names are recorded on the panels. The Wall was of interest to my wife, her parents arrived from England in 1948 and their names are inscribed on the panels adjacent the Maritime Museum in Fremantle.

These are really charter boats for short distances, they need to be booked and cannot just be flagged down like a taxi. When we figured that out and called them, a boat was sent to our location quite quickly to pick us up. The service from the driver was fantastic, helping one of our older passengers to alight without issue. He also stopped the boat for a great photo. Not cheap though!

2016 - after more than 1,000 years, the engineers have finally figured out how how to capture pure sound in a large box - the absorption panels on the walls prevent the bouncing that distorts true music. Every seat hears it and sees the show. Wow. This is the place for great sound.
