Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stopped off at The Rocks area from the hop on hop off bus tour. The market was in full swing; fabulous array of items both food and non food. A real treat to wander the streets of old and admire the architecture and soak up the vibrant atmosphere. We took time for a wee refreshment in one of the oldest pubs in the city; enjoying the alfresco atmosphere and watching the vast array of visitors and locals of the area. Highly recommend.

The markets are on both Saturday and Sunday. We went both days, it’s the same each day. It is really cool - set in the historic part so even just walking around is cool. The market itself isn’t huge and I found a lot of the stalls weren’t great for foreign tourists. Still fun and there is a seating area under the bridge for food. Good morning stroll.

My partner and I walked into Atty’s gallery having never purchased art before and walked out with the Emu Mob and Milton after going back to the gallery twice. I even purchased a third after deciding we needed one more to complete our collection. I can’t describe how wonderful Graham has been to work with. When we were first considering buying Graham said “art should be something that brings a smile to your face everyday you look at it.” I can confidently say Milton, Sally, Marv, Ash, Hugh, Winnie, Chuckie, Dolly, Ollie, Flick, and soon to be arriving Cornelius will bring us years of smiles!

A small informative museum about the Rocks. Not big and rather focussed subject. I enjoyed the map showing the history of the major European powers in 17th century carving up the world, The rest I found could be done in 15 min.

Great selection of contemporary art. Paintings, drawings, sculpture, video art and others. There is a really excellent room with first nation art, the bark paintings were good and there was a really helpful guide who was interesting to talk to. Great shop too.nice outside roof/balcony area with a view of the harbour, except when the huge cruise ships are in dock.

Enjoyed the presentation by Ted, our guide who had our attention from start to finish on the history of The Rocks and the people who built and lived in this multi-house structure. Parts were being restored but Ted brought the real people & life stories with facts and some mysteries. Thanks Ted!

Management and the team at the overseas cruise terminal here in Sydney are simply exceptional. Travelling with my 86 year old grandmother, staff could not have been more helpful and inviting. A lovely gentlemen escorted us from the taxi stand to ship security. Absolutely faultless. A credit to management and staff. A great look for foreigners, a credit to our state and country. Keep up the exceptional work!!

This is the oldest Catholic Church in Sydney, having stood in its current location for close to 180 years, being first opened in 1844. During weekdays alone, there are four services a day, with more on Saturdays and Sundays.

This small, grassy park sits at the foot of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It’s one of the best vantage points near Circular Quay.
It's easy to get to. From Circular Quay just keep following the water around in the direction of the Bridge.
It is only a very small reserve but it has a million dollar view.
In one direction, you look straight across the water to the Opera House - a perfect place to take photographs of the Opera House sails. In the other direction, the Harbour Bridge looms right overhead.
NOTE: From Hickson Road Reserve it is very easy to link up with the Barangaroo Foreshore Walk and walk right around to Darling Harbour.

We paid a brief visit to the Sydney Visitor Centre, in the heart of The Rocks area. We were not particularly looking for any information, but rather went in just to have a look. There is lots of information around and the staff seemed quite friendly as we observed from a distance. Next time we need help about Sydney sightseeing we will know where to turn to.

First place to stop in Sydney for your opals. Outstanding customer service. The sales staff were warm, down to earth, knowledgeable and no pressure. They let the opal and customer find each other with a beautiful selection and reasonable prices. A true mine owner and designer team. They understand opals from start to finish.

We went to Louis Vuitton this morning, which is alongside the DFS, and so had a look through the DFS while we were there. There didn’t seem to be a lot there of interest to us, and we wondered if it was perhaps targeting overseas visitors instead of locals.

Cute little park. Stopped by for some photos while on a looping path from The Rocks back to the Circular Quay area. The bridge and surrounds make it feel a little bit like NYC or a Spiderman movie at times lol. Great place for photos.
