- Vacation444440347041 contributionWe had a very calm day. It was wonderful cruising out to sea. We were 2 adults and 2 small children. We saw many humpback whales swimming along. and bonus dolphins. We were very lucky to see the whales breach a few times and some great flukes! Some great photo opportunities.
Kids loved it (when not unwell). I brought along some snacks and I was very glad I did. The tea/coffee was not anywhere to be seen. The kiosk was not open. (I heard other parents had expected to buy their kids some items on board). I did not hear any commentary though and I spent a lot of the cruise inside with a seasick child. - AngelaBMargate, Australia2 contributionsWe took our 12 and 13 year old granddaughters on the Captain Cook Whale Cruise out of Sydney Harbour in mid July. The weather was perfect, the boat was great, the tour leader Paul had loads of interesting information for us, and we saw two amazing humpback whales! Not just once, but again and again, as they made their way up the coast, diving down and coming up for air. We were thrilled to say the least! The boat kept its distance of course, but we all had a great view of these wonderful creatures.
We would highly recommend this cruise! We must have seen >50 whale breaches. Being at water-level in the zodiac boat made it more spectacular We were able to manouvre very quickly to where the whales were. As soon as I finished i thought about other family and friends that I can buy this trip for as a present. Can't wait to go again ! The guide was very knowledgeable and she was happily to take questions. We had missed our original planned trip due to traffic jam, so make sure you get there in plenty of time, but they were very helpful and rearranged. - Annette F1 contributionThis is the second time (and it won’t be the last) that I have gone whale watching with Charterscene and can highly recommend this company. Maximum passengers on the yacht is 12, which makes it an intimate experience with you and the ocean. Both times that I went, Douglas easily located the path of the humpbacks for the passengers to observe surfacing and breaching.
