Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was an absolutely amazing experience.

Great knowledge from Rob and Mette and they completely respect the whales and their behaviour. The boat is the perfect size too, so not crammed full of people.

    Thanks guys.

Saw Humpbacks Whale. They did that thing with their tails and waved their flippers.

    Food was good.

    A great day. Highly recommend.

It was great to be out on the water and we saw a lot of whales! Six in fact. Our boat driver and guide was very helpful and did a nice job. Did not get wet, the provided wind breaker was comfortable and helpful. Consider sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.

From start to finish it was a great day out. Yes, there is a lot of waiting around and watching but that is to be expected in the mid-part of the season.

We did manage to see a couple of calves and even saw a mature one breach. Unfortunately, the breach was such a surprise that I do not think many of us got a picture of that but that is for another day.

Unfortunately, not many people were wearing masks despite the guides saying it was highly recommended. From my perspective I thought that they had too many people on board to enable social distancing to occur. Thankfully, there was no one sat in front of or behind me and I was wearing a face mask. It is for this reason that I say I had some reservations about the cruise.

At this time I would make sure you wear a mask and have hand sanitiser handy.

One minor issue is with the safety briefing at the beginning. I do not care who you are but when giving a safety briefing, making jokes and laughing is not the done thing. The safety briefing is a serious issue and needs to be treated with seriousness.

I will say that the 'guide' was very informative and knowledgeable.

If you have four hours to kill between May and September then I would definitely add whale watching to your agenda.

10/10 experience. Once in a lifetime! . Sean and Martin were amazing! Great hosts, think they were the lucky charm as a whale came out to play! Went as a birthday treat and it was incredible! Was so close to the whales and got amazing photos! Would so recommend!

Sydney harbour & beyond is amazing. Such a large expanse of water & surrounds worth seeing even in ordinary weather.
The shame was we saw 1 loan whale not doing much. No ones fault, just one of those things about nature. It’s therefore not off my bucket list. So my advice do it in the optimal peak times. Took more than 20 minutes to get out & same coming back really about a solid he of following the whale.

The experience you will never forget. The small boat is the way to go to do whale watching as we get the experience up close and personal with the whale. it is worth the cold and rain to get the video of the whale as they surfaced to take a breath and playing and showing off their tail. thank your for the captain and whale expert for the time and explanation for us the enjoy the experience of whale watching.

The crew were really lovely, it was a fantastic day for boating, pretty calm, sunshine all round. There were about 7 other people on board so plenty of space to find a good vantage spot! Sweet views on the way in and out.

I can kind of see how the negative review might have occurred, the crew were pretty casual in the briefing given some people probably spend zero time on boats.

We were incredibly lucky to see so many whales breaching right in front of us, honestly it was downright majestic. The crew themselves were very excited and given how often they go out you know you've had a good day when they are taking as many photos as you are.

A little light on whale facts if I'm honest, I do love a good fun fact!

    Overall, awesome trip!

First time seeing whales in their natural surrounds. It was a lovely afternoon and great experience. Learnt some additional things about the whale migration north from the commentary.

We had a very enjoyable afternoon cruising from Sydney Harbor out to a few miles off of the east coast where we saw humpback whales breaching the surface countless times. Captain Greg was very knowledgeable about the local area and worked very hard at getting us in the right position for pictures/videos for hours as we watched these magnificent mammals. We even got a few bonus dolphins here and there. The food and drinks were very good and Max the First Mate took care of us very well. Highly recommended!
