Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying

You can go anywhere in the huge Sydney harbour using the tap on tap off cb service we have been travelling all over the harbour for four days and have paid less than 40€ each including train from Gosford return, Each day. - Aviation CentralSydney, Australia188 contributionsA super well furnished railway station that is very large - I almost got lost (I tried to take the metro and it was on platform 27)! There is a retro kind of design in the station, which is super cool. I suggest you have a look and take some photos as it is quite a sight for visitors or new immigrants.Written 7 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Even on Winter’s day, managed to enjoy an outdoor seat in bright sunshine.

Limo pick up was on time and check in process quick and easy. One of the last couples to get on the train so limited breakfast available but still adequate and of good standard. Washing it down with Bollinger was a bonus. The cabin was of good size for a train and surprisingly the shower in the ensuite had good pressure and worked well. However the bathroom did smell for the trip and we pointed this out to the crew. The food was of very good standard and wines excellent. The staff were amazing. They really went out of their way to help so you could enjoy the trip. No stop at Kalgoorlie which was only one of two stops on our short trip. Cook was a complete waste of time TBH. We really struggled to get some sleep. It's noisy and bangs and bumps a lot. It's not a smooth ride like some other train carriages we've used. Yes it's an experience however for the cost it's grossly over priced. From the company point of view it's booked a year in advance for platinum so no surprises if the cost continue.Written 30 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A friend had sent me a list of train times, stations & platforms and it went like clockwork! The classic was the transfer from Museum to Central which gave me a one minute wait on the new platform till my connection arrived. I also visited a new station,
Wolli Creek, and line and saw parts of Sydney from a new perspective. In the past year I've travelled on trains in the USA, South America & China, all good services and can safely say that our Sydney Trains are up there with the rest & best!Written 4 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Skeney57Sydney, Australia25,011 contributionsIn cohorts with big brother trains, I find the service to be great. With frequent trams available and quick returns, it is a no brainer in the inner city. I only wish they had a similar free travel area like Melbourne's? Plus, the only complaint I have is they aren't overly weather proof during heavy downpours with small covered areas. But they get you out of the rain in quick fashion.Written 4 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Charlie G2 contributionsGreat experience and a great way to get around Australia. There was a small issue with the van battery early on but the customer care team were quick to resolve and arrange a new one to be changed with only minimal effect on our journey and route.
Would use again..Written 8 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Simon BCity of Greater Geelong, Australia4,157 contributionsJumped off tram into the CQ wharf area to catch a ferry.

- Stotty6Laos74 contributionsThese are really charter boats for short distances, they need to be booked and cannot just be flagged down like a taxi. When we figured that out and called them, a boat was sent to our location quite quickly to pick us up. The service from the driver was fantastic, helping one of our older passengers to alight without issue. He also stopped the boat for a great photo. Not cheap though!Written 7 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Penny MExmouth, Australia36 contributionsI relied on the ecohopper online timetable but it didn’t turn up at the Q station. Had to wait 45 minutes. The sign says to wave to ferry down which I did twice but it just skipped it. Be wary.Written 6 November 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
