Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Dimitris LSydney, Australia50,924 contributionsPort Jackson is Sydney Harbour. Those who live in Sydney justifiably consider it the most beautiful harbour in the world, but this is obviously biased. Nevertheless it is one of the most wonderful harbours around! The views are absolutely magnificent from any point you care to stand, whether on land or from the water. It is a lovely, almost enclosed body of water, and several rivers and creeks drain into it. The jewels in the crown of Port Jackson are the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House, but there are many other beautiful spots as well which are not hard to find. Take a few steps and you are in the Botanic Gardens, or board a boat and the whole harbour is your oyster! One of the best ways, if not the best way, to enjoy the Harbour is to get a ferry. It is very cheap and convenient. It will take you wherever you wish, really, and you will enjoy the most amazing views. Try it if you can!Written 9 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- AndyJohn74Sydney, Australia5,222 contributionsLocated on the eastern side of Rushcutters Bay, the Cruising Yacht Club is open and accessible to the public. There is a footpath that goes around both on the road and the waters edge. For the visitor there is a cafe, a restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, as well as all the modern amenities.Written 5 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Stav VSouth West Rocks, Australia147 contributionsOld chinatown re-invented. Eautiful open air areas. Restaurant selection was amazing. Prices were also reasonable.Written 10 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Mairwen1United Kingdom11,216 contributionsElizabeth Bay Marina is another one of those lovely, tucked away, waterfront spots that are largely unknown, except to locals.
Unfortunately, it’s not terribly accessible. The foreshore around here has been blocked off by large, ugly blocks of units that were built in the days when councils allowed such things.
However if you are visiting historic Elizabeth House, then it is only a very short walk down to the marina.
There’s a lovely cafe, The Lookout, on the sunny, back deck of the marina.
It’s more beachside kiosk than restaurant but the view, looking out across the marina boats and harbour, makes it special. It’s the sort of place where you end up ordering another coffee just so that you have an excuse to keep sitting in the sun, soaking up the view and the relaxing atmosphere. I’ve eaten here several times and the food has always been decent (see separate review).
Beare Park, runs alongside the marina. This is a nice green space with a large, sloping expanse of grass running along the foreshore path. There’s a small children’s park at the back of the park (although it’s unfenced and the equipment is a little shabby these days), large shady trees and plenty of bench seats with a view.Written 27 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This area makes for an interesting walk. There are numerous residents here now as well as cafes and restaurants.Written 17 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dimitris LSydney, Australia50,924 contributionsWe have visited the general area several times over the years, mainly to enjoy the views and the swimming facilities, but not much has changed during that period. The marina is obviously a very useful spot for those people who have boats and the like, but I don't know about the rest. There is a restaurant but we have not been there. Regarding other amenities, we have not needed to use them and have not looked for them so would not be able to comment in detail, although the only time we looked for a toilet it was difficult to find and when we did find it, it was really run down and neglected. Perhaps they have others for the restaurant patrons. The whole area, however, does look a little bit neglected and in need of tender loving care. Perhaps something more needs to be done to attract visitors to the area, unless they are not looking for more visitors, in which case there would be no need for improvements.Written 25 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AndyJohn74Sydney, Australia5,222 contributionsThis marina is located in Rushcutters Bay, alongside the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia. There are boats of all shapes and sizes and these encompass an array of eras too.Written 5 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
