Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We heard about the Barracks on a walking tour. It's free to enter, and you are given an audio guide. They have the guides set up so you always hear the correct information for your location within the museum.
Well worth a visit if you have a spare few hours in Sydneys CBD.

I will be honest, I was blessed to 'happen upon' The Jewish Museum when I was doing a walk from Circular Quay to Paddington, more than 17 years ago.

Although I wasn't dressed (in my view) to go into a museum, I checked with a lady working there and after her approval I went in. I was so glad I did and I have lost count on the number of times I have been back.

People may think it is only about the war but it isn't. One would be a fool to think that there isn't that in the journey as it was a monumental time in their lives. However, a large part is an informative walk through Judaism, customs, culture, faith, and basic way of life.

Hands down the most informative and well organised storytelling Museum I have gone to. Even though its size would be considered miniature compared to others in Sydney.

I was very blessed on the day I first went the museum wasn't very busy, I managed to corner a curator and just ask the poor young man question after question. I am sure I kept him for near two hours. I haven't seen him since, I hope I didn't traumatised him with my continual questions.🤣

I have selected the date I did because it doesn't allow me to go back and select ALL the months from 17 years ago that I have visited the Museum.

I never went on a Saturday, knowing it would not be open due to it being their Sabbath.

A small informative museum about the Rocks. Not big and rather focussed subject. I enjoyed the map showing the history of the major European powers in 17th century carving up the world, The rest I found could be done in 15 min.

Excellent little museum with informative guided tour, followed by wandering around the rooms. The interviews with police photographers and the numbers of photographs of criminals from 1910 through the years was very interesting. It is free and open at the weekends only but a small gem in Sydney.

Elizabeth Farm is a heritage building, dating from 1793, making it the oldest European building in Australia. The pioneering Macarthur family, founded by John and Elizabeth, lived here and raised their family. Elizabeth was instrumental in pioneering Australia's wool industry. It is said that "Australia rides on the sheep' back." Elizabeth farm is a public museum.

The National Opal Collection, houses a huge collection of opal jewellery, and a museum of opals as well (complimentary to visit) –fascinating & mesmerizing. Bewildering array of info and beautiful designs, natural solid opals, black, light and boulder opals, much more - staff were very knowledgeable. (I have gait/walking challenges (stroke), wear a legbrace.)
