Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Marvellous ground very well organised tour. The guide needs special attention, she was fabulous. I had read how good the options were for food but all I could find were the usual tepid footy-style offerings of chips, burgers and pies. The burger was in the finals of worst ever but the meat pie took the prize as the worst ever.
The stadium is, however, impressive and the concert (Paul McCartney) was great. It is ridiculous that the NSW Government spent a reported $900-Million on this replacement stadium without a sliding roof.Written 29 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Apart from the first couple of seasons when they struggled, they have been competitive. In 2019, they made the Grand Final but were thrashed by Richmond. The Sydney Derby against the Swans, held twice each season, is a highlight of the AFL year, There is no love lost between the Giants and the Western Bulldogs. Jeremy Cameron won the Coleman Medal for top scorer in the 2019 AFL home-and-away season. When the Giants hired Kevin Sheedy as their first coach, they made a good choice; Sheedy has the reputation for being one of the best thinkers in the game. The Sydney Showground Stadium homeground advantage has allowed the Giants to put down roots, AFL captains often nominate the Giants as one of the gane's up and comers.Written 27 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mrdom6,357 contributionsIt's in the middle of nowhere so any game means the footpaths are covered in cars, and the limited bars close shortly after half time, but it's so much better than the big stadiums and also half the price for admission.Written 17 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Manish KDubai, United Arab Emirates3,970 contributionsI went to the Spotless Stadium (formerly the Skoda Stadium) in Sydney Olympic Park during the Royal Easter Show last April. The stadium hosts Big Bash League cricket matches as well as AFL games. It is small in comparison to other venues, such as the ANZ Stadium next door, and may like a certain vibe as a result, but still has its own charm. The spectator seating is very good and the view from most seats is uninterrupted. Apart from this, the rather quirky floodlights and stadium roof provides a unique touch to this ground. It has good facilities for food and drinks as well.Written 16 March 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - fatbear2000Oxford, UK4,110 contributionsThe Drummoyne Oval is a pretty ground which is the home of Sydney Cricket Club, who we watched play in the semi-finals of Sydney’s one-day knockout competition. It also hosts matches for the NSW Women team, the NSW mens team occasionally play here, and the touring England Lions recently hammered a NSW select XI here.
There is a small concrete stand at one end ( the Greg Davis Stand, named after the captain of Australia’s Rugby Union side in the 1960’s who played for the Drummoyne Rugby club, who also play here in the Australian winter ), a small player’s pavilion on one side, a quirky old fashioned small stand with around 250 seats, and then there are grass banks around the rest of the oval.
There are 6 floodlight pylons, TV gantries at both ends, as well as a large scoreboard in the far corner by a very large tree.
When we visited there was a small food & drinks outlet open in the side of the Greg Davis stand, with cans of beer or glasses of wine for 5 AUD, and soft drinks for 3 AUD. There were also what looked to be pies and sausage rolls available.
Entrance to the oval was free for this match, with a small number of people sitting on the grass bank, with everyone else in the Greg Davis stand.Written 25 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Located in the Inner-West suburbs, it is a purpose-built soccer venue with an estimated capacity of 7,000.
We visited to watch a match between APIA and Rockdale Ilinden. Match tickets were 15 AUD, 10 AUD for pensioners and concessions, and under 16s went free. Unexpectedly, a match programme had been produced and was free.
A healthy crowd was in attendance, swelled by a large number of young boys and girls out for the occasion but many of them were more interested in playing with their mates rather than watching the proceedings happening on the pitch !
There were also long queues at the two food outlets, and the buckets of chips were doing a roaring trade, but unusually for Australian sport, no beer appeared to be sale.
The northern grandstand runs the length of the field seating around 1200 spectators in 8 rows whilst the building on the southern side has the dressing room facilities on the bottom floor with a social club viewing area above plus press facilities and media facilities. There is a small hill behind one goal with a handful of park benches for spectators.
APIA won the match 6-0 with a thrilling display of attacking football, and for anyone interested, a full report can be found on the Fatbear’s Sporting Diaries blogWritten 16 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
