- Helen C3 contributionsWe thought this was a great way getting around Sydney on an open top bus taking it all in, and listening to the commentary which was interesting and useful. Just found it difficult to spot the stops and waiting in between a bit frustrating. But once on the bus we used a few stops and went to Bondi beach which was lovely. Wish had gone longer than 4 pm which was the last bus time. to use. so could have got more out of it as felt what we paid was too much for the few places. We went. When said could use 24 hours. The boat managed to track them but not getting too close. The guide was very knowledgeable and she was happily to take questions. We had missed our original planned trip due to traffic jam, so make sure you get there in plenty of time, but they were very helpful and rearranged. He allowed us to set the pace that worked for us which made this day spectacular. He picked us up at our hotel, arrived early and greeted us like longtime friends. Was able to provide Indepth historical information during the entire day. He also acted as our personal photographer with wonderful pictures of all areas visited. This is perfect for someone not planning to have a lunch or dinner on the cruise and just looking to enjoy a 1 hour cruise with a beautiful sunset. You will be provided with light snacks which is just enough to keep you going while on the cruise. We really enjoyed the Calmsley Hill City Farm and all the other beautiful sights this tour had to offer, we were also blessed with really great weather during the entire day so that definitely made the trip even more memorable.
We decided not to purchase the lunch that was extra with the package so we had lunch at the deli inside the Hydro Majestic Hotel and it was really tasty.

Our guide Jonathan, was a mine of information and took time to talk to us about Australian history and origins. He took the time to talk us through each of the individual stops on the route and also threw in some hidden gems that made the trip that little bit more unique.
Despite it being cold up in the mountains, Jonathan was extremely flexible and gave us time to take plenty of photos before moving on. If some of the group didnt want to get out of the bus, he was happy for them to stay put.
The picnic lunch that was provided was fantastic and of such high quality that all of us were very complimentary about it.
Unfortunately as the day progressed the weather became more inclement so Jonathan arranged for us to make an unscheduled stop at a tea shop on our way back to Sydney.
This was the second tour we had been on with Runaway Tours and I really cannot fault them on their organisational skills or their customer service as we arranged the bookings prior to travelling to Australia from the UK.
Both Steve and Mandy were exceptionally helpful and guided us perfectly to make the right decisions on both of our trips.
We wouldnt hesitate to recommend Runaway Tours because they were professional from start to finish.

I learned so much about the area and it made me feel excited and confident to continue exploring the area even after the tour was complete. Our guide was a very kind and passionate man who clearly loves history and made the tour so fun. I learned a lot and loved the storytelling and inclusion of aboriginal stories within the tour. I felt I had a better understanding of Sydney’s history after this tour! Great value for the low cost, too.
