I was in and out in 25 minutes with plenty of opals in my shopping bag. Initially I felt a bit intimidated but the staff is very low key, very knowledgeable and no pressure to buy. Price range is from affordable to very expensive. Something for everyone. They are duty free. They provide the info you need for immigration. From the moment we entered the shop, we were treated like we were their most important clients. Nelly showed us loose stones and taught us the different types of opal. She walked us around the store and got a feel for what caught our eyes and tried to find similar pieces. We found the most extraordinary pair of earrings with amazing fire. She carefully boxed and sealed the jewelry so we could bring them home duty free. Once we got home about a month later, the earrings were even more beautiful than we remembered. Doesn't have the big brands but it still has a lot of basics like a supermarket and many retail outlets. A big food court which would satisfy anyone for daytime snacks or lunch.

I’ve visited both the Singapore and Sydney locations a couple of times and I know to check an empty bag to haul my purchases back. I especially love the large manga volumes and easy readers for Japanese learners. I also found the Junji Ito section today. Oh and the magazines! a short walk from Darling Harbour, Barangaroo and the CBD. For anyone even remotely interested in antique maps and natural history then this will be a place you HAVE to visit. I had planned to check it out on my way to lunch, but instead ended up skipping lunch completely and instead became lost in the wonderful world of antique cartography!
This isn't a place that sells reproductions or copies, these are authentic antique pieces. I purchased some gifts for my family and a map fo Australia for my self. Prices range from $15 for smaller pieces and up to the $$$$'s for the really rare stuff.
