When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have seen so many view point so for me it was ok. The pictures shown by business who advertised this place in trip advisor has over done it but not that great like how you see it in trip advisor. An average place to visit. But quiet to visit after 5 cos of less foot print. We had the whole view point for our family as we were the only one there lol.

This place is a great little marine sanctuary. Went with my two sons aged 16 and 13 who both enjoyed it. Stayed for about 3 hours which was probably the maximum I’d suggest to allow. At first I thought it was expensive for what it offered but in todays hectic lifestyles, it was a nice relaxed feeling to go through back and forwards to the same exhibits over and over again without feeling rushed. I think they do a great job with education and conservation so if some of my money went towards that, it was worth it. Gift shop reasonably priced too and staff were all friendly and knowledgeable, always happy to answer questions. Best thing was how close you get to be to all the animals. Low key relaxed fun.

Starting at the Clog Barn Holiday Park which is ‘A Little Bit of Holland in The Heart of Coffs Harbour’. The Barn is the dream of Dutch born Tom Hartsuyker, apart from making clogs here he has also built a miniature model Dutch Village and a small railway. The entry to this attraction is free and it is pleasant strolling through the gardens admiring the small buildings. There is a cafe attached to the main building where I believe they make a pretty mean pancake.

A friend suggested a visit to the Coffs Harbour Botanic Garden, this is our last day here so our last chance to visit the gardens. It was an excellent suggestion and we walked most of the park visiting the wet and dry rainforest, the creek road, the Glasshouse, the rare and endangered plants and the sensory garden. It is easy walking with for the most part well maintained paths and roads, it is just when you are taking some of the smaller paths that it gets a bit rough but nothing that most people won’t be able to handle.

Too rainy for the beach on our annual holiday so we booked for our family group of 7 to this small, but totally wonderful aquarium. The host/guide was so incredibly knowledgeable and funny, and we learned so much about the local fish life of Coffs. It was also a wonderful reminder about the importance of caring for the sea and its importance in our lives. I would highly recommend this lovely place.

Visit the Coffs Harbour Butterfly House where there is the butterfly enclosure, a cafe, a maze, a dinosaur walk and a dinosaur show arena. Our main interest was the butterfly enclosure which is a large, extremely warm, area where the butterflies were everywhere and more than happy to land on you when they needed a rest. The gardens in here were very pretty with lots of flowers, all set up for the butterflies to use their proboscis to suck the nectar from. According to the brochure there are 24 species of butterflies here, I recognised a few but not sure how many. Walking from here to the ‘Dinosaur Walk’ where we wandered through the forest viewing the many moving dinosaurs and out to the arena where they have the dinosaur shows. There were a lot of families here and the children all seemed to be having a good time.

Ideal beach to bring children for a run. Rained before we arrived, but was lovely & cool. Some decent waves, so may be good for surfers, not sure.
Thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon walking the beach up & back down.

Long drive down bumpy narrow road. The walk is about 1.5m or 1 mile round trip down a road near the tall green steel gates and zip line facility. Requires some elevation gain and loss. There’s a turnout in the road before the actual walkway that offers views just as good without all the physical effort!

It’s quite a long walk at 9km, but we saw a heap of birds and lovely habitat along the creek. Excellent signage informed us of the incredible culture of the Gumbayngyr people of the region and how they used the various plants and animals seasonally.

Our last stop before driving back to camp was the Coffs Harbour Jetty where one day long, long ago Robb went diving for fish with a friend underneath it only to be told when they returned to shore that a school of sharks had been spotted there the day before. The end of the jetty looks over to Muttonbird Island, you can walk over to the island on a different track and then up to a lookout, it is quite a steep walk from the end of the walkway to the top but I believe it is well worth the effort.

Very good little market with the advantage of being able to stroll around the whole area - to the end of the jetty and then out to Muttonbird Island. On the day we visited there was a cheery jazz band in operation being enjoyed by the punters.

Starting our day today at Sealy Lookout which is about 6kms outside of Coffs Harbour and up a very interesting road where they are currently carrying out roadworks. The road at times is quite narrow but that didn’t stop some drivers from driving around blind bends at 80kph on the wrong side of the road. I am sure the ‘F’ word flew out of my mouth a couple of times as an adjective referring to these idiot drivers. Making it in one piece to the Forest Sky Pier which is the centrepiece of Sealy Lookout and walking out to the end where there are sweeping views over Coffs Harbour city, the mountains and the coastline. On a clear day apparently it is possible to see 100kms to the south. This lookout is accessible for all levels of fitness and leads directly off the carpark where you can also find the Nyanggan Gapi Cafe, a picnic area and toilets. A few minutes back down the road from the lookout is Treetops Adventure for those looking for a much more exciting experience including aerial challenges, ziplines between 1 to 12 metres high, apparently this is suitable for ages 3 and up (I just read that as up to 70).
