Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Daniel Z12 contributionsHad a fantastic time at the AWM. We were the first members of the public in the newly opened oculus and cold war exhibition. The memorial is very well done, informative and detailed. Peter provided us with a great tour, and had interesting moving stories to share. Very worthwhile to visit!Written 20 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- BeijingEyeDubai, United Arab Emirates413 contributionsAlthough Parliament was not sitting, well worth a visit. Security staff were very friendly and made suggestions so as not to miss anything. - Rafael AciĂ©n MartĂnez95 contributionsMy wife and I bought the tickets at place (we did not book them). As soon as you get the tickects you receive a map with more information about this place.
You can enjoy walking along the place seeing many different kind of animals such as lions, tigers, giraffes....
We did not know about this place before going to Canberra. Therefore, we could not plan properly our visit to this place as you can do other activities such as feed some animals or even spend a night there. However, we enjoied.Written 2 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The Earthquake room was a good experience.
Hubby enjoyed sitting under the moon.
The Colour show was great - not too long, and a good educational session.Written 5 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Guy BAmbrieres-les-Vallees, France40 contributionsThere are exhibits inside and outside the gallery. This is a most amazing space to see the items on show, In fact the gallery itself is an architectural work of art and I spent as much time looking at this as I did on the various gallery exhibits.
The whole place conjures an environment that just invites you to relax and absorb the art.
It must be mentioned that it also has a very good cafe/restaurantWritten 23 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I've never seen so many bandicoots in my life! The talk from the staff about the koalas was really informative, and it was great to learn about their rehabilitation work. The visitors centre was unfortunately being renovated and was closed, but this just means we'll have to visit again. If you have access to a car I can't think of a nicer way to spend a day in Canberra.Written 27 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AussieVGMarsfield, Australia476 contributionsI love a visit to this museum, and it was a pleasure to revisit as a parent with the toddler. The exhibition halls are a great mix and perfectly engaging for all ages. We also visited the discovery centre which was brilliant. We did get lost a bit, more signs back to the exit in the outdoor space would be welcome.Written 14 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Wendy F1 contributionThe gardens has been one of the most memorable and amazing places we have visited in Canberra (October 2024) we were amazed with the attention to details of every building, figurine, gardens, trains, flowers and international history. The gardens also had many interactive features for children (and very big children) to interact with. Well worth the trip and entrance fee, there is so much work that goes into this attraction, well done to the creator, gardeners, designers and I would imagine many more. We also enjoyed a lovely morning tea in the Cafe.Written 17 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jimmyram19xxLondon, UK10 contributionsIf you love politics and a bit of history this is a fabulous museum. From the exhibitions to taking in both chambers of the house along with a hefty dose of 70s/80s design and furniture, spending 2-3 hours here will not be wasted!Written 29 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
