Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- ThehaikubanditMelbourne, Australia37 contributionsTidbinbilla is incredibly peaceful, and it's really amazing to see so many animals in a very natural environment. I've never seen so many bandicoots in my life! The talk from the staff about the koalas was really informative, and it was great to learn about their rehabilitation work. The visitors centre was unfortunately being renovated and was closed, but this just means we'll have to visit again. If you have access to a car I can't think of a nicer way to spend a day in Canberra.Written 27 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rhonda S12 contributionsAbsolutely stunning flower displays. Well organised although a few more food choices would have been helpful. Plenty of Floriade volunteers on site to answer any queries. We had a very pleasant day.Written 22 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ThehaikubanditMelbourne, Australia37 contributionsThis is honestly one of the best zoo/aquariums I've ever been to. The staff are absolutely fantastic, and really make the zoo what it is. They were really happy to chat about any of the reptiles (and other exhibits) and you could tell how much every one of them cared. It's a place that is full of heart. The interactive parts of the zoo were unexpected, but very much enjoyed! We can't wait to come back one day, and are especially looking forward to seeing the new crocodile enclosure :)Written 27 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jeffry bEssendon, Australia13,737 contributionsBlack Mountain Nature Park is the lungs of Canberra, it an area of natural bush in the heart of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). . It's a favourite place for trekking so ACT natives. It also hosts the Black Mountain Tower, also known as the Telecom Tower. It's the highest structure in the ACT.Written 30 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- katejim1Boonah, Australia473 contributionsThis was recommended to us by a wonderful lady in the tourist information centre near the Floriade. We did 2 of the walks/loops, saw plenty of birds. Many people there painting also. A gentleman who was obviously a regular told us about a frogmouth on a nest and took us to it. We had a wonderful morning, and would go again. Paths are good and easy walking.Written 25 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- AshleyWollongong, Australia17 contributionsThis was a great little find. The kids loved feeding the birds. Food is provided for you to feed them. Would recommend going early in the morning as the birds were more active when we first got there. As it got hotter the birds stayed in the trees. It’s not a huge place so you don’t need a lot of time.Written 2 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jeannie L16 contributionsSuch a great hike with amazing views! But please be aware we parked close to the entrance of the walk, off road on the dirt and was given an unpleasant surprise upon our return... A parking ticket!!! I will definitely be disputing this, because there was no sign posting, or a solid white line. Just a heads up everyone!Written 8 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Poppy BMansfield, UK96 contributionsNice place to go and get a bit of ‘beach’ without driving a few hours to the coast. Can on occasion be a bit dirty from cigarette butts being left.
The main area is good for families as it’s shallow and doesn’t really have a current but for people wanting a bit more space you can head up or down the drive ways to other sandy areas along the river.
Can be rocky in areas - would recommend aqua/beach shoes to protect your feet.
There are toilets and barbecue facilities.Written 4 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - EmanpeeSydney, Australia2,728 contributionsThis is an excellent out and back walk and walking trail where you are rewarded with stunning views from Square Rock. We went on a Sunday, and while busy, it didn't feel crowded (even though the carpark was full and overflowing). A good level of fitness is recommended as the first 3 kilometres is mostly uphill with the remainder of the 5km journey (including Orroral Lookout) gently undulating. Mixed surface to walk on so hiking boots best, although plenty of walkers in runners. Very grassy, so if legs sensitive recommend long pants. There are no toilets anywhere, including none at carpark which is very poor. Nor is there any water, so BYO drink and food.Written 20 February 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Neville BCanberra, Australia545 contributionsIn my days as an athlete, I used to train every day in this nature reserve. It provided the challenges that I needed while at the same time I could take in the wonderful views that it offers. Athletic no more, "Mount" Taylor reserve still has the views. And you can drive to a parking area half-way to the top. Also the walker can take in the changes to the very interesting houses that have been built around "The Rim" at the back of Pearce and Torrens. "Mount" Taylor is really a misnomer. It was more correctly called "Taylor's Hill" by the soldier-settlers who were the first white people to farm in the Valley (that should have been called Yarralumla Valley - not Woden Valley - as Yarralumla Creek flowed through it). Woden - a part of the Duntroon Estate - was on the other side of Red Hill. So much for the planning bureaucrats of the time. They allocated blocks that were far too small to farm, and could not get their names correct.Written 27 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CanberrascooterCanberra, Australia694 contributionsThis out of the way picnic spot has shelter near the river. Seating but no expansive grass area. Ok for a small group but not a big gathering. Rocky with trees along the river banks. There are better spots but not bad if you want to be alone, unless others arrive of course.Written 19 July 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Wendy JohnsonSydney, Australia64 contributionsThe ruins at Lake Innes are well worth a visit with national park volunteer guides explaining the area to you in great detail. The ruins over look the lake and are really worth checking out if you are at Port Macquarie on a Wednesday morning. It is a really lovely and quite place to spend a few hours walking around the ruins that over look the lake. Entry is via a tour only but the cost of the tour is only $8/adult and this included tea/coffee and biscuits.Written 21 August 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
