Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

26 June 18 - Today I headed up to Mt Franklin in the Bimberi Wilderness Area of the Namadgi National Park. Been quite a while since I was last there. 3 weeks into Winter it was still a perfect 5 degrees and there was a good coating of snow around the ground. The road there is achievable in a 2WD but, at this time of year I would suggest a 4WD is better. There are some icy parts of the road where snow and water have frozen into slippery areas, so drive very carefully and always check road conditions and weather first. At this time of year it can change pretty rapidly. The area is usually closed off from about mid-winter due to snow and dangerous conditions.

The area is rich in history, has amenities and some easy bushwalking and great views. It's a national park, so if you take a picnic (it's a great spot for that) please take your rubbish with you.

All around, this is a perfect day trip at the right time of the year. Spend some quality time outdoors, in the natural high country bushland.

Excellent local walk and only 5 minutes drive from home to the start of our hike from Mt. Majura.

We used a combination of All Trails app and Canberra Centenary Walk as our guide to give us extra challenge. Total distance from Mount Majura - summit - Mount Ainslie - summit - Mount Majura was about 12 KM. Steep hikes from the start if you enter through Antill st carpark. For less challenging start, you can start from MacKenzie st.

Part of our routes was considered a "goat track" and rather interesting as it was not common track. The hike itself was challenging enough and great way to enjoy the beauty of national bush capital.

The walk is not suitable for family with young children and people with disability. Some areas are steep towards the summit and loose gravels along the way which can be dangerous. Please ensure you bring enough water and keep yourself hydrated. Enjoy the walk

Impressive set of trails catering to a wide range of skill levels, and progressively getting more technical as you make your way up the mountain. Trails are generally well formed but be prepared for tree roots.

Make sure you head into Majurassic Park via the underpass to test yourself on some rollers and jumps.
