Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- R4712RNjohnw2 contributionsWe went to the zoo early in September and the experience was amazing. The facility is beautifully maintained and the animals are well cared for. They show lots of confident characters.
However, the pond in front of the Entry gate was quite dirty and contaminated. Around the back there was a small single stage centrifugal pump and a filter, cartridge media not typically used in this application. There was a pressure gauge on the downstream side of the filter showing zero, but there were no gauges on the upstream side, measuring what was happening inside the filter. In this case a simple swimming pool media can be used to capture the bulk of the contaminants. These can be back washed to capture the waste.
I have been in the water processing business for 40 plus years and would be happy to spend some time at the zoo to discuss some options. Please let me know.

We didn't visit but were able to view Queen Elizabeth II Island, location of the National Carillon, Springbank and Spinnaker Islands. The lake was a key element in Walter Burley Griffin's design for the city and is named after himWritten 18 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MarthaWKGold Coast, Australia4 contributionsVery relaxing and enjoyable. We had sunny warm weather which I’m sure made it that much better as the ground was dry and koalas were out and about.Written 27 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rhonda S12 contributionsAbsolutely stunning flower displays. Well organised although a few more food choices would have been helpful. Plenty of Floriade volunteers on site to answer any queries. We had a very pleasant day.Written 22 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Toni SBohle Plains, Australia25 contributionsWe visited these wonderful gardens in winter and it also rained while we were there, but that didn’t ruin our visit. There is just so much to see with all the different types of plants/trees. The different areas eg the fern gully walk, the red centre, the bee motel 🐝 and banksia gardens are amazing. Love to see these gardens in spring. Lots of paths, signs to read interesting facts. Well worth going for a lookWritten 1 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Dan LBunbury, Australia8,538 contributionsCompleted this walk on June 1st, dropped by taxi near the War Memorial, commenced my walk at the Ataturk Memorial and continued on down to the New Zealand Memorial and Constitution Avenue and crossed over to the replicated New Zealand Memorial and back to my starting point. Lengthy walk but happy that I was able to undertake it and view the memorials on either side. Impressive "Parade' with the background of eucalyptus trees on either side, the memorials and the central strip in red gravel and planters containing the New Zealand 'Autumn Glory' shrub. Great overall view of the Parade with War Memorial overlooking from Mount Ainslie lookout. Not sure how frequent cleanups and maintenance is undertaken but paths and Memorials had varying amounts of debris from the eucalyptus trees both underfoot and on the Memorials and the white epoxy used to repair cracks and fill expansion joins really looked out of place.Written 20 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Patrick O4 contributionsIt says the walk to the top is about 30 minutes and for once it is right. It’s quite a strenuous walk up but you can stop and and catch your breath but no seats. But the view at the top is stunning.....and whatever sweat you raise during the walk is ell worth it. It can be cold and windy so take a jacket....and water. Last three kilometres drive in is dirt but well maintained so not an issue. This is one walk that is worth it.Written 25 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- LyT2795Bathurst, Australia146 contributionsWeston Park is right on Lake Burley Griffin at Yarralumla. It has excellent shared bike paths, a small petting zoo, mini train, cafe and water features. There are usually a few kangaroos eating the grass. The park is big and it’s easy to find a quiet spot to sit and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. The point is a good spot to launch a kayak from and there are several designated swimming spots. It can get a little crowded near the petting zoo on a sunny day but it’s easy to get away from the crowds.Written 12 April 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - wombatdavidHobart, Australia2,696 contributionsI walked through the park on the way from the centre to the NGA. It is a green park but there are lots of empty beds which must be planted for the Floriade festival. It must look nicer when they are all covered with plants.Written 15 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sagreatdanCanberra, Australia226 contributionsWow, I've been in canberra for a few years and had no idea this lookout was there. It's an easy stroll down to the lookout, about 1.2 km return. The view is great and there is lots of water in the river Nov 20.

Public toilets were not clean but were modern and thankfully contactless. Play equipment is great with wheelchair friendly equipment. Also loved the park benches with large flat spaces we used for a picnic. Kids had a blast. Beautiful surroundings. We went back a number of times on this visit to Canberra.Written 19 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
