Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Tony WSydney, Australia4,620 contributionsEverybody should take the opportunity to visit this magnificent building. From the very impressive main entrance area, The Grand Hall, the House of Representatives and Senate chambers to the portraits of all of our previous Prime Ministers. Take the elevator to the roof to enjoy a spectacular view down to the Australia Australian war museum well worth the time to visit.Written 15 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Romanw871Redwood City, CA2,659 contributionsI decided to hike one of the trails, it was very nice, but strenuous (and I consider myself to be in a good shape 😉). The views on the top are great and worth of effort ( BTW the look out is also accessible by car).
If you hike -make sure you have good shoes and bring some water with you).Written 1 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Whilst the exhibition itself was interesting and it was full of videos to watch, I felt there wasn’t a lot of items on display. Every 15 minutes there is an eruption which is quite fun to experience. The rest of the museum is towards the back and we found it really fascinating and full of amazing objects. I did find the explanation of the artefacts maybe a tad too minimal, but it didn’t make me not enjoy the space. If you get hungry there is a great cafe with views of the lake. If you come on the weekend, there is free parking. We spent close to 3 hours at the museum including lunch and left with more to see for future visits. The Museum itself is free to enter but any special exhibitions you have to pay for.Written 10 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - wombatdavidHobart, Australia2,839 contributionsThis museum is situated in Old Parliament House so you can go and sit in the old Senate chamber and the House of Representatives. They have loads of interesting rooms with history and activities in them. I loved the letter writing room and sent some letters back to friends and family. It sounds dry but I reckon most people would get something from it. And it is free! Very nice helpful staff too.Written 10 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Elizabeth10 contributionsWe basically only stopped there for lunch at the bookplate cafe and it was great. Try the chia latte! It’s an easy walk from Parliament House or the gallery.Written 4 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Then out buildings. Barracks cafe has lovely out look over Brindabella hills. Simple menu. - Pacola1Canberra, Australia114 contributionsAn absolute fabulous adventure, both educationally and food wise. Jayson took the time to explain the philosophy behind his truffle farm enterprise and the love he has for his project including his much-loved canine assistants. It was a breath of fresh air to be shown around the farm and then enjoy the degustation lunch afterwards. The lunch was brilliant, flavoursome and intriguing all at the same time. The dept of flavours were evident in every course. Truffle in season is a delight not to be missed. Overall, a great team and a great experience.Written 9 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- LF0308Melbourne103 contributionsFriends in Canberra told me to go visit. Court was in session with full bench in Court 1 and I was able to go in and watch it in action. Especially interesting that the judges were all over the law and nailed the barrister a couple times wiht some very detailed questions on specific things. Had a long chat with of the staff upstairs and she provided a lot of information on the courts and the building.Written 11 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lisa LMelbourne, Australia343 contributionsvisited here in between visits to Parliament house and Old Parliament house. Good for a break from politics. We saw "reception this way" and was a great reminder of how people traveled around Australia. Carefree and mostly happy. This is an important organisation, storing, recording and keeping records for all Australians now and in the future. Its worth a visit while in Canberra and has a nice cafe for a drink after.

Would I recommend visiting the campus? Yes it's quite pretty. What I wouldn't go here to do is just to see students studying - not anywhere near as interesting.Written 5 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AndyJohn74Sydney, Australia6,051 contributionsLocated on Queen Elizabeth II Island, within Lake Burley Griffin is the National Carillon. It was a gift from the British government to the people of Australia to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the capital. The structure contains 57 bells in total after an additional four were added during additional refurbishments.Written 10 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dan LBunbury, Australia9,017 contributionsA National Welcome Parade for former Vietnam forces was not held until 3rd October 1987, in Martin Place, Sydney and went some way in the reconsolidation process and community acceptance of their involvement in the Vietnam War. Five years later on 3rd October 1992, this Memorial was dedicated to all Australians who served from 1962 to 1973. There are three stelae rising from a shallow moat with either inscription or etched photographic record. Suspended above is a suspended granite ring, or halo, it contains a scroll with the names of Australians who died in the conflict. There are six blocks with the names of six servicemen missing in action, now repatriated and an additional plaque affixed with details of the recoveries, homecoming to Australia and burial details with the final inscription "HOME AT LAST"Written 21 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - honestNgunnawal, Australia281 contributionsWent with my partner and mum and was pleasantly surprised. The views were beautiful, walking track is in good shape and we all enjoyed it. We did get a bit lost and walked an extra 40 mins as we went off the signs and a review from a hiking website, but we figured it out in the end!Written 26 June 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ben DMelbourne, Australia54 contributionsThis site is really only for astronomy buffs. If that's not you, then don't come here.
The site was well laid out, with lots to see. There was a path and signage explaining the various points.
Only lowlight was the caretakers cottage which is supposed to be open but was locked. Could clearly hear sound from the displays inside.
Can get very windy here.Written 6 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
