A small but very interesting museum. An incredible insite into the human mind and its failings. The personal stories were very moving.A must for anyone studying psychology.
... which was once the Administrative Offices of the hospital I found this a very interesting visit - at present the Richard Dadd exhibition is on there which is gorgeous but the rest of the museum is worth a visit.

Yes I know London is full of museums, but this is a gem about 25 mins from the centre and has wooded grounds for walks and stunning views over London.

Galleries and museums can often wear you out.
At the same time you can view their permanent collection which is on par with any the old masters you would see in larger museums.

Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar Biggin Hill 10.0 km away
#1 of 1 Museums in Biggin Hill
We've been to lots of airshows and different aviation museums etc over the years, but this was above and beyond anything we've previously experienced.
Really enjoyed the whole experience, in the hangers you can get much closer to the planes than in a museum and interesting to see a 'working' hanger where the planes fly from.
Churchill War Rooms London, UK 12.7 km away
#3 of 379 Museums in London
ONe of the most fascinating museums I have seen, The rooms are preserved exactly how they were during the war, narration was excellent and the cafe complements the tour.
The Churchill War Rooms are part of the Imperial War Museums and very much worth a visit for anyone who knew of Churchill and/or is interested in the role of Britain in the Second World War.

The area is full of nice pubs, little restaurants, markets, some quirky shops, the beauty of the ships and the river, amazing historic buildings and a couple of museums.

Gorgeous views and fascinating museum including the history of the first timepiece (invented by self-taught carpenter John Harrison) that would function at sea, allowing sailors to navigate longitude accurately.

The observatory itself is good however I would recommend paying for the planetarium and then taking advantage of the free maritime museum / royal naval college if you are limited for time/budget.
Cost was £28 for a family ticket including museum and Planetarium show.

It is every bit as good as the other great museums I have seen- Louvre, Met, Hermitage, Uffizi etc. Wonderful collection of renaissance art as well as excellent impressionist collection.
Having been to many art galleries including the Prado, Louvre, Vatican Museums, National Gallery of Art (Washington), MET, National Palace Museum, I can say this definitely ranks as one of the my favourite.

The museum itself is in a wonderful old warehouse in West India Quay that's been lovingly restored/transformed into one of the best museums of its kind we've ever seen.
I have visited London over the past several years for holiday and each time I visit Museums and Art Galleries, I wish I had visited this museum sooner.

Y'all, this has to be one of the most underrated and little-known museums in London!
Small and vintage, but this in my eyes underlines the nature of it being a former operating site, so more honest compared to glossy modern museums.

This is a ‘must’ visit if you come to London and want to avoid the crowd in the many galleries and museums in central London.

If you enjoy impressionist art them this is a must go can see the beautiful paintings without the huge crowds at the bigger museums
It offers a stunning art collection in a much more intimate (read: less crowded) setting than the larger museums, like the National Gallery.
